The Geffen Gala recognizes leadership in theater, and raises funds for the Geffen playhouse. The playhouse was originally UCLA’s ‘Westwood Playhouse,’ but its name changed after David Geffen, the billionaire film producer and record executive, donated $5 million dollars.
