Judge Throws out Shareholder Lawsuit Against Marvel and Stan Lee

A federal judge dismissed the case against Marvel Entertainment, Inc and Stan Lee.  The issue surrounding the lawsuit began in 1988, when Stan Lee transferred rights to the Marvel characters to Walt Disney Co.  The judge ruled that the shareholders bringing the lawsuit lacked standing to sue, as they acquired their shares in 1999, which is a year after conduct in question occurred.  He also said that the shareholders waited too long to enforce their rights, because they sued more than 10 years after the transfer.
