‘Sex and the City 2’ is a Box Office Hit – Proves Critics Wrong

‘Sex and the City 2’ took in close to $50 million at this weekend’s box office, and everyone is using it as an example of how film critics are irrelevant.  First of all, I don’t think anyone is surprised that the film did well despite the negative reviews.  Women are loyal to the series, so as long as you write anything where these four characters are involved, you’re set to go.  If they hope to do a third film though, I imagine that the quality of the second movie will play a role in its success.  That being said, there is no excuse for lazy writing, and I think that is what happened here.  They threw something together and put it on screen.  They wanted a quick release of a sequel at the expense of the quality.
