Leah Remini Claims Sharon Osbourne had her Fired from ‘The Talk’ — Osbourne Responds

Leah Remini finally broke her silence about being fired from The Talk, and she’s placing the blame exclusively on Sharon Osbourne. Remini said, “Sharon thought me and Holly were ‘Ghetto’, (her words) we were not funny, awkward and didn’t know ourselves . . . . She had us fired.” Osbourne insists otherwise saying:

In response to Leah Remini’s continuous comments that I had her fired from [The Talk], let me just go on the record to say I had absolutely nothing to do [with] her departure from the show & have no idea why she continues to take to Twitter to spread this false gossip . . . . Leah knows that I have never been in the position to hire or fire anyone on the show . . . . My only wish is that Leah would just stop all this negative, unprofessional, and childish behavior . . . . It’s been seven months. It’s time to move on. Leah is a very talented actress and I only wish her happiness and success. I know that better things are to come if she can just get beyond all this negativity.”

I have to side with Sharon Osbourne on this. Regardless of Sharon’s personal relationshps and influence, everyone knows that the network is exclusively responsible for picking-up options (A.K.A — renewing someone’s contract). While it might be true that Sharon didn’t want to work with Remini and expressed that to the network, it’s ultimately the network’s decision about which side to take. And furthermore, networks do not take kindly to being bossed around, so I highly doubt they would abide by Sharon stomping her foot. In an industry that’s akin to a high school clique, it’s important to maintain relationships, even when that clique burned you (see Tom Cruise & Sumner Redstone). It’s therefore not a smart decision to mouth-off on Twitter.
