I love David Letterman, and I love Conan. So I was pleased to see the two titans join each other for a Jay Leno bashing session. Amongst the gems is the clip below, in which Letterman explains his joy in watching the Conan/Leno late-night debacle, explaining that he’s known Jay since his days in Los Angeles at The Comedy Store, and although he was the comedian everyone wanted to be, he was a “bit of a brat.” Leno explained that when the network infighting began, he thought, “Oh yes . . . this is the Jay I know.” And despite Conan’s misfortune during that sequence of events, Letterman refers to it as “the golden age of television.”
