Gabourey Sidibe’s Mother Tells Howard Stern to "Get a Life"

Howard Stern has been in hot water recently about some comments he made about Gabourey Sidibe’s weight.  Many celebrities have responded to his comments, including Jessica Simpson and the women of ‘The View.’  Now Gabourey’s mother has come forward, saying he should “get a life.”  I listened to his show that day, and though I thought his comments crossed the line, I did not anticipate such a media frenzy.  Hear him respond to the criticism below.

Guns N’ Roses Stage Collapses

Guns N’ Roses had to cancel a gig on Sunday in Brazil after the stage collapsed because of the rain.  This marks the second show cancellation in Brazil, the first happening on Thursday, causing fans to storm the stage in protest.  Their Saturday show was also almost called off due to Axl Rose being “pelted with bottles” by fans.  Here’s my question: is it really fair to even call this band ‘Guns N’ Roses?’  Axl Rose is the only original member of the five person band.  As a sidenote, the guy in the picture below standing next to Axl Rose is not Slash, just a new member of “Guns N’ Roses” that fancied Slash’s hat.

Lady Gaga’s Sister is in her ‘Telephone’ Video

If you thought one of the girls in the ‘Telephone’ video was Gaga in disguise, you might have been looking at her sister, Natali Germanotta.  ‘Telephone’ was originally written for Britney Spears, but the plans fell through and Gaga recorded it herself.  The video has over 13 million hits on YouTube so far.  Fast forward to the 2:17 mark to see Gaga’s sister standing behind her.

‘South Park’ Will Address the Tiger Woods Scandal

The season 14 premiere of ‘South Park’ should be pretty interesting.  Matt Stone, one of the two creators of South Park, told The Mirror that he was “fascinated and disgusted’ by the Woods apology, and that the sex addiction outbreak is “such an important issue in America right now.”  He therefore couldn’t resist working it into the show.

Heidi Montag Scores Role in Adam Sandler Movie

Just when you thought things couldn’t get weirder, Heidi Montag announced that she will be in the new Adam Sandler movie, ‘Just Go With It.’  Jennifer Aniston, Brooklyn Decker, and Kevin Nealon, will also be in it, and it will be released next February.  The film is about a plastic surgeon that tells his girlfriend that he is married with children to avoid committing to her.  He then asks a women to pretend to be his wife in order to keep the lie afloat.  Huh??

Half of ABBA Will be Missing at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

ABBA is being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on March 15, 2010, and only half of the band will be there.  Bjorn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Faltskog will not be joining Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad at the ceremony.  They both gave half-hearted reasons for not showing, which basically indicate they just don’t feel like it.  Faith Hill will be singing the ABBA songs.

Charlotte Church Announces Music Comeback

Charlotte Church has teamed with an investment company that will fund her new album.  She claims that this is better than a record deal, because she will have more creative control over the album.  You may remember Church as a young opera singer, who went on to sing pop music, and later hosted a talk show in England.  She has sold over 10 million albums throughout her career.  Listen to her sing below.

‘American Idol’ Top 12 Announced, no Wild Cards This Year

I am not sure if anyone is as disappointed as I am that there are no wild cards this year.  The wild card choices by the judges happened to be one of my favorite parts of the season.  You may remember it from the first three seasons of the show.  They brought it back last, and have nixed it again.  Without the wild cards, none of the following contestants would have advanced to the top 12: Clay Aiken; Matt Giraud; Kimberly Caldwell; and Jennifer Hudson.  There were other wild card choices by the judges over the years, but I left them off the list because if I told you who they were, it might not serve my point that the wild card round is a good idea.  Actually, I think Jennifer Hudson might be the only person that proves my point.  Oh well.
