Shrek Trailer Released

The new trailer was released for ‘Shrek Forever After.’  This is the fourth installment of the Shrek franchise (in case you missed the pun in the title).  In total, the ‘Shrek’ films have grossed over 2 billion dollars for Dreamworks.  Given that number, I imagine Dreamworks will pump out at least 20 more of these films.  The planned release is May 21, 2010.  Watch the trailer below.

Richard Gere Finally Talks about What Went Wrong with Cindy Crawford

Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford were Hollywood’s “IT” couple in the 90’s. They married in Vegas, but it only lasted 3 years.  The marriage was constantly plagued by breakup rumors, and the couple assured the public of their solidarity even 6 months before the split.  Now, Gere is finally talking.  He told The Daily Mail that the 17 year age gap was largely responsible for the split and that “he married her because [he] didn’t want to lose her.”  He also said that he wasn’t sure he wanted children at the time.  Gere is now remarried to Carey Lowell and has one son.

Jersey Shore’s Ronnie and Sammi Break up . . . for good this time?

It looks like season’s ‘Jersey Shore’ is going to have plenty of drama for the fans.  The entire cast will be reuniting in Miami, including the recently broken up Ronnie and Sammi.  Ronnie has been very mature about the breakup though, making sure to post all of his recent exploits on twitter.  Here are some of his recent posts.  Before you begin to read the tweets, be aware that “GTS” means Gym Tan Smush.   Apparently, smush = sex.  Got it?

“Come on Snook u can never GTS to much ( u kno that lol)…..wooooo…2 weeks, You ready? bc im not”
“Early morning GTS.. Busy day gonna be crazy….”
“GTS for next few days.. then Ohio on Fri to shut that bitch down… Lets get it Athens”

The ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Promo is Out

This is one of my favorite reality shows on television.  This year’s celebrities include: Rod Blagojevich; Sharon Osbourne; Darryl Strawberry; Curtis Stone; Sinbad; Cindi Lauper; Bret Michaels; Bill Goldberg; Summer Sanders; Holly Robinson Peete; Maria Kanellis; Carol Leifer; Selita Ebanks; and Michael Johnson.  I have to admit I have not heard of all of these “celebrities,” but as long as Bret Michaels from ‘Rock of Love’ is on the show, I am excited.  Do you think he’ll get a challenge where he has to have sex with lots of skanky whores?  Let’s hope so!

Katherine Heigl is Leaving Grey’s Anatomy

Mike Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly has just announced the end of ‘Izzie Stevens’ on ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’  Since Heigl’s film career has taken off, she has long desired to escape her contract on ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’  As a result, there have been some cutting barbs in the press between Heigl and the show’s creators over the years.  Here are some of them:
Heigl took her name out of the Emmy race and, she told the press that she felt she wasn’t given the proper material by Grey’s writers to warrant an Emmy nomination
Heigl told Letterman that she had a 17 hour work day which she thought was “cruel and mean,” and the Grey’s camp responded by saying that the long work day was actually a favor to her to work around her movie schedule

Heigl complained to the press that she wasn’t given the respect she deserves during her contract renegotiation so she walked out.

You may remember my post about why George Clooney is so respected in Hollywood.  Clooney’s film career took off while he was on ER, and instead of acting like Heigl and bashing ER to get out of his contract, he respected the show and stayed until his contract was up.  I think she should have done the same.  Time will tell as to whether she will pay the price for this.

‘A Time to Kill’ is Headed to Broadway

Remember this film?  It’s the one where Matthew McConaughey can actually be seen acting instead of running around with his shirt off.  Well, it’s headed to Broadway sometime next year.  It is the first Grisham book to go to Broadway, and it will be adapted by Rupert Holmes.  Fear not though . . . I don’t think anyone will be singing.

‘American Idol’ Will Cover the Rolling Stones Next Week

‘American Idol’ needed to plan something big next week for the top 12, and I think they’ve done it.  The singers will perform songs by the Rolling Stones.  No word yet on whether any members of the band will show up, but my guess is that they won’t.  I can’t even believe that the Stones agreed to release their songs on Idol, though its probably great promotion.
