To think that I once thought reality television was a fad. Keeping up With the Kardashians is pulling huge numbers, and it is setting cable records. So how can this be? I’m guessing it has something to do with the family being an upper class train wreck. Here’s the rundown: oldest daughter, Kourtney Kardashian, gets “accidentally” pregnant with a D-bag’s baby; middle daughter, Kim Kardashian elopes, divorces, and then has a sex tape with the grossest guy ever; and youngest daughter, Khloe Kardashian, marries a guy after knowing him three weeks. I love every second of it!!
Those who know me well know that I am a giant Roger Ebert fan. My father and I used to watch Siskel and Ebert hash it out, and my dad would always say that Siskel was his personal favorite. I always preferred Ebert. As a pair, I think they were at their best. Since 2002, Ebert has undergone many surgeries due to thyroid cancer. He no longer has the ability to speak, but lucky for us, he is still writing. Last year alone, he saw 281 movies. Esquire recently did a profile on him, and they blew up the picture rather large. As I expected and greatly admire, Ebert doesn’t care. Ebert said that though the picture “gave him a jolt,” it’s just as well that it’s out there. The most touching part of the article was when he discussed Gene Siskel. He said, “we were born to be Siskel and Ebert. I just miss the guy so much.”
Unfortunately, this post is about them reuniting as producers and not as actors. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that there is a potential on-screen collaboration in their future. Affleck and Damon will be producing films for Warner Brothers.
Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are teaming up again for a Frank Sinatra biopic. This will be DiCaprio’s fifth collaboration with Scorsese, which is coming awfully close to beating the seven collaborations between Scorsese and Robert Dinero. DiCaprio will not be singing. Of working with Scorsese, DiCaprio says, “he expects his actors to ultimately help him with the movie he’s trying to make. He explores the movie through his actors, and that’s amazing. And kind of rare.”
I found myself channel surfing the other day, and I came across ‘The Insider.’ I cannot articulate in words just how cringe inducing this show is. I’m all for entertainment television, but this is horrific. Watch below and judge for yourself. Actually, you might want to spare yourself and take my word for it.
Many of the contestants on American Idol are forgettable, and I thought Jason Castro was one of them. I was wrong. He just released a song that I absolutely love! Though the tempo may not fit everyone’s taste, it is getting great reviews.
About ten years ago, when The Real World was still watchable, The Real World Boston’s Sean Duffy met The Real World San Francisco’s Rachel Campos, and they went on to have lots and lots of babies together. Sean Duffy became a District Attorney, and Rachel Campos made some appearances on The View. Now, Sean Duffy is running for Congress. Do I want him to get elected? Um…of course…he was on The Real World!! See Rachel Campos on The View below.
Arists nominated for best original song will not be performing at this year’s Oscars. One of the nominees is allegedly outraged by this revelation. This marks the second year in a row that the Oscars have messed with these performances. Last year the songs were shortened, causing Peter Gabriel to boycott his performance, because he didn’t want to ruin his song by chopping it down. This is such a bummer. It’s one of my favorite parts of the show. Listen to the nominated songs below.
