Jennifer Lopez Celebrates Birthday With Very Bold Dress

JLOHOTDRESSThe stars came out for Jennifer Lopez’s birthday bash, and by stars I mean the kind you get when you’ve been hit in the head with hotness and your vision is blurred for eternity. JLO rocked a curve-hugging, reveal-and-conceal dress with seductive cutouts and some serious ASSets. While some likened her bold Bao Tranchi dress to a similar Cushine et Ochs piece, the difference lies in the very daring details. And for all the ageist folks around town that have cried for a more conservative look for the 46th year old, perhaps they should let someone else stare at the sunlight. They don’t deserve it.

Empire by Trump: A Father’s Day Fragrance

DT Empire 100ml w box (1)

Donald Trump knows how to brand his babies, and Empire by Trump is no exception. The new men’s fragrance can be found exclusively at Macy’s, and it’s the perfect present for deserving dads in need of a confident scent that commands attention. With bold notes of peppermint, spicy chai and a hint of juicy apple combined with masculine florals, the seductive musky fragrance is a must-have father’s day gift. As for the bottle itself, the sleek design and packaging with hints of gold-tone details suggests it’s true to Trump’s expensive taste.

The Griddle Cafe: Best Breakfast in Los Angeles

griddleWhile I generally avoid restaurant write-ups due to my sub-par food knowledge, The Griddle Cafe deserves some extra sweet attention. Run by Chef and Founder Jodi Hortze, the delectable eatery has every pancake dish under the sun, in addition to some drool-worthy french toast that will take you to another dimension. Hortze’s admitted sugar-deprived childhood inspired her pancake palace, and the endless array of imaginative offerings would leave Willy Wonka wanting more.  Grab your best friends with big appetites to share in this smorgasbord of scrumptious food. You won’t find a better breakfast in Los Angeles.

12TH ANNUAL WOMAN’S DAY RED DRESS AWARDS

Hollywood’s leading ladies and much-talked-about reality stars saw red at the 12th anniversary of the Red Dress Awards, which honors those who have made important contributions to the fight against heart disease. Hosted by Andy Cohen and headlined by Elvis Costello, the event sheds light on the number one killer of women today. See pictures below.

Awards Season Fashion Predictions from ‘The Good Fox’

My very talented friend at The Good Fox shared some top picks for our shiniest stars, and it’s worth a read. Check out her website for more inspiring style.

AWARDSFASHION

The 2015 award season has officially kicked off, which means fashion’s finest are revving up for some riveting red carpet styles. With so many designers to choose from, it’s time for some predictions. See below for the top 6 picks for our favorite stars.

1. Balmain Spring/Summer 2015
This look from the ready-to-wear collection is a complete show stopper. In my honest opinion, this look could go down in history. It has the potential to be worn rather conservatively or taken to the other end of the spectrum – let’s say, risqué chic. I’d like to see this on Scarlett Johansson or Jennifer Lawrence. Those ladies would definitely do this number justice.

2. Valentino Spring/Summer 2015
One of my personal favorites from this list is this gorgeous Valentino mint gown. It embodies elegance and playfulness using tulle and sequins, the right way. This fresh look would be great on Lupita Nyong or Emma Watson who both rocked a bold coral color last year at the Golden Globes. Chi City Fashion did an awesome 2014 fashion round-up not too long ago, to refresh your memory.

3. Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2015
This 2015 Balenciaga lavender dress, shown on model Anna Ewers, is perfect for Jennifer Anniston. She typically goes for clean cut styles that fit her body like a glove. I’d like to see her take a bit of a risk this year and try a style with a more eclectic edge.

4. Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2015
This pop of color is a must this year and someone has to pull it off. That someone should be Kerry Washington in my book. Scheduled to present tonight at the Golden Globes, I think it’s the perfect moment for Kerry to turn some heads in this elegant, saturated shade from Carolina Herrera.

5. Unique Spring/Summer 2015
As seen on Cara Delevingne on the runway, this look is for the bold. It’s a sheer gold number that would fit perfectly for a star such as Keira Knightly, who typically goes for form fitting silhouettes in gold and sparkly tones.

6. Jason Wu Spring/Summer 2015
Known for typically rocking a bold color on the red carpet, whether dark or light, this look would be perfect for Emma Stone. She can work a solid shade like none other. I would love to see her in this dark, flowy gown from Jason Wu. The color would be heaven against her pale skin.

Michael Strahan Interview with Cigar Afionado

MICHAEL_STRAHAN_CIGARAFICIONADO

NFL great and television talk show host Michael Strahan sat down with Cigar Afionado for an exclusive interview, and the gentle Giant talked football, the limelight, and what’s next for his career. Read some choice quotes below.

On knowing no limits: “I don’t limit myself and I tell my kids not to let anyone limit you. That’s one of the great things I learned from my dad. He never said, ‘If…’ It wasn’t ‘If you’re drafted by the pros.’ It was always ‘When.’ When you’re drafted by the pros. He made things seem like they were supposed to happen.”

On his football field strategy: “I always looked at football as psychological. It was like chess, where you’re figuring out what your opponent’s next move will be, or how to make them move where you want them to…That’s one of the things I miss—that chess match.”

On the difference in his life since leaving football: “I’m not sore every morning.”

Co-host Kelly Ripa on Strahan’s surprising shyness: “All he has are strengths. He can talk about anything…If charm was a drug, you could extract it from his body and give it to everyone…People run up and hug him. They see a big personality. But in his private time, he’s really very shy.”

On his “Live with Kelly and Michael” audience: “Those are the only ones we really think about talking to. If I started thinking about how many people are actually watching us on TV, it would freak me out.”

On being in the limelight: “One of the most embarrassing things to me is people yelling out my name in the street, I want to be the guy who can walk in and out of a room and you don’t know I’ve been there…I miss being able to sit in a restaurant and not have people try to sneak a photo with their cameras.”

On finding anonymity within the community of cigar smokers: “Cigars solicit conversation. You see someone smoking a cigar and you feel instantly closer to them.”

On his choice cigars: “For the most part, I like my cigars light and sweet. Sometimes, though, give me something robust that will knock my socks off. I think the little ones look funny in my hand because I’m such a big guy. But I don’t want a cigar that’s the size of my thumb either.”

On his many ventures off of the field and what’s next: “Someone asked me what I’d like my legacy to be. When I thought about it, I decided I’d like to have been more successful outside of football than I was in it…I’m not done yet. I’ve got a long way to go.”
