Trailer for Jim Carrey’s ‘I Love You Phillip Morris’

Below you will see the trailer for Jim Carrey’s continually shelved film, ‘I Love You Phillip Morris.’  I suppose the only thing more disturbing than seeing Carrey act out every gay stereotype possible, is hearing his very odd “accent.”  Watch for yourself.

‘Glee’ Scores Highest Ratings in the Show’s History

The insane ‘Glee’ publicity is paying off.  The show raked in 13.7 million viewers Tuesday night, which beat the previous season average by 70%. The bad news is that ‘Glee’ was unable to sustain a large portion of the ‘Idol’ lead-in, losing 30% of Idol’s audience.  That’s surprising considering that ‘Glee’ and ‘Idol’ have a similar demographic.  I still say good for ‘Glee’ though.

CNN Claims they are the only "Non-Partisan" Network Left

CNN made their advertiser plea at the upfronts, stating that their “non-partisan” voice sets them apart from their competitors.  They also touted their “good journalism” as an incentive to advertisers.  I’m not sure what CNN means by “good journalism,” but perhaps they are referring to their 24-hours news coverage of the Tiger Woods scandal.

Jackie O. Drama in the Works

Darren Aronofsky (Director of ‘The Wrestler’) and his real life girlfriend, Rachel Weisz, are teaming up to make a TV drama based on Jackie O.  Weisz will play Jackie, with the story based on her life during the aftermath of JFK’s assassination.  The project is in its early stages, so don’t expect to see it on television for quite some time.  Good thing that Aronofsky is only producing this, as it never seems to be healthy for a relationship when couples work too closely together.  We don’t want them going down the same ‘Revolutionary Road’ (pun intended) as Sam Mendes and Kate Winslet.

The Addams Family Musical Rakes in Money Despite Negative Reviews

This surprised me.  I’m not surprised that ticket buyers would ignore the critics, just that they’d actually want to see this musical.  I’m almost always against remaking movies into Broadway musicals, and this one was no exception.  I guess I’m the only one though.  The show garnered $15 million in advance sales, and made close to a million dollars opening weekend on top of that.  I think that we have Nathan Lane to blame thank for this.  He plays Gomez and is probably the draw needed to get the show up and running.  I’m just so sick of the Addams Family.  It started as a cartoon, then became a TV series, and four films later, we are now at the Broadway musical.  Did I mention that Tim Burton is making an animated film too?  Sigh . . . the family you can’t get rid of.

Ricky Martin’s Old Girlfriend says that she Didn’t Know he was Gay when they were Together

Ricky Martin’s girlfriend of over 10 years, Rebecca De Alba, explained in a recent interview that she learned he was gay years after they broke up.  She says that the relationship ended because of their busy schedules, and not his sexuality.  She also debunked rumors that their relationship was a facade for the press.  I am not sure what to make of all of this.  If my ex came out of the closet, I’d probably rewind our terrible sex in my head and blame it all on him.  At least she has that.

TBS Already has a Conan Promo Up

TBS is great with marketing, so it doesn’t surprise me that they already have a Conan Promo up and running.  I’m sure their marketing prowess has a lot to do with Conan’s decision to go with them, and they are certainly proving their worth.  Watch below.

Jim Carrey’s "People" Tell him to Lay off the Angry Tweets

Jim Carrey has been getting a lot of criticism lately since defending Tiger Woods on Twitter.  To be fair, he didn’t exactly defend Tiger, as much as he kicked Elin in the gut.  Too harsh?  Of Elin, he said “no wife if blind enough to miss that much infidelity.”  He later tried to save face, by tweeting that he doesn’t condone infidelity, though both parties share some degree of responsibility.  In addition to the outrage about the content of his posts, some of Carrey’s followers are concerned with how late he stays up at night, fearing he may be having a breakdown since his breakup with Jenny McCarthy.   All I have to say about this nonsense is that Twitter is the beginning of the end of Hollywood.  Celebrities are supposed to be these untouchable entities that leave us always wondering what they’re really thinking.  We aren’t supposed to find out that what they are actually thinking is a bunch of nonsensical bull shit.

Conan O’Brien is Going to TBS

Is Fox going to throw a pity party over this?  Team Coco is bringing Conan’s late night talk show to TBS every Monday through Thursday from 11:00 – 12:00 pm.  Because of the time slot, he’ll be up against basic cable big wigs ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ and ‘The Colbert Report.’  Apparently Conan was impressed with TBS and is excited about having ‘The Family Guy’ and ‘The Office’ as a lead in.  George Lopez is also excited about the Conan lead in for ‘Lopez Tonight.’  I guess Fox just couldn’t seal the deal.  Some speculate that Conan didn’t want his comedy constricted with a network, making cable a pretty appealing alternative.  You go Coco!

Gossip Girl: Is Taylor Momsen off the Show?

Rumors are swirling that it’s the end of Jenny Humphrey on ‘Gossip Girl.’  The network recently said that Taylor Momsen would take some time off next season for creative reasons, but now Momsen is suggesting that she may be done altogether.  She was recently interviewed outside The Key Club in Los Angeles before performing with her band, ‘Pretty Reckless.’  When asked about the show, Momsen said, “it’s done dude.”  Because most actors are under contract for five years of a show, and ‘Gossip Girl’ has yet to hit the five year mark, Momsen was likely fired and did not quit.  Given that she can’t seem to keep her eyes open while reciting her lines lately, this doesn’t surprise me.
