Kate Gosselin is my Favorite on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

I realize that Kate Gosselin is not always a fan favorite, but I love her.  She’s the only person on DWTS that doesn’t have prior performing experience so I give her a lot of credit.  Watch her performance below.  There is also a lot of talk about her fighting with her dance partner, Tony Dovolani.  Watch them bickering in the second video (it stops at the 3:20 mark).  I actually feel sorry for Kate in the video.  I think Tony is frustrated that teaching Kate is such a challenge, so he lost it on her.  I’m obviously not the only one eager to see Kate dance, considering that the show put her performance last, which means they were trying to keep viewers tuned in until the very end.

The Farrelly Brothers are Very Nice Guys

A while back, the Farrelly Brothers were at a charity event in Martha’s Vineyard, and to encourage people to donate, they said that all of the $100 donors would have their names put in a hat, and the person picked from the hat would be in their next movie.  A girl’s name was picked from the hat, but by the time the movie started filming she sadly got cancer, and was unable to do it because she was too sick.  The Farrelly Brothers said she could be in their next movie instead, but if she wasn’t well by then, they would let her be in whatever movie they were doing when she got better.  Well, she did get better, and she recently flew to Atlanta, GA for the filming of ‘Hall Pass,’ starring Christina Applegate, Owen Wilson, Alyssa Milano, and Jenna Fischer.  I hear that the Farrelly Brothers liked this girl so much that they asked to go to dinner with her.  When she told them that she already made plans with her cousin, they asked if they could join.  I hear it was a great time.  After hearing this story, I will have a special place in my heart for the Farrelly Brothers forever!

Jon Heder and Comedy Central Part Ways

Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Jon Heder has “dropped out” of a Will Farrel produced sitcom that he was set to star in due to “creative differences.”  I always find it funny when “creative differences” are cited as the reason that an actor is sacked.  Often times actors are hired based on their previous roles, and when they go in for a table read, the creative team isn’t happy with the actor’s performance.  So they “part ways mutually.”  I’m not saying that’s what happened here, though it would be my best guess.

Howard Stern Implies that Jamie Foxx is a Homosexual

Jamie Foxx started a feud with Howard Stern after Stern insulted Gabourey Sidibe of ‘Precious,’ when he called her too fat for Hollywood.  Stern responded on his radio show today, with many references to Foxx being a homosexual.  He began by saying that he had a lot of information about Foxx that would be embarrassing for him, but he wouldn’t mention it.  He then spent five minutes basically outing him, with about every other line being a gay pun.  Brutal.  All I can say is, don’t mess with Howard Stern.  To hear Stern’s comments, listen below.  To hear what started the feud, listen to Jamie’s comments in the second clip.

Jennifer Aniston and her Pink Dress

Jennifer Aniston is being criticized for the pink dress that she wore to the Paris premiere of ‘The Bounty Hunter.’  I love the dress!  Aniston rarely wears color, so I’m happy to see her taking a risk.  Back off, everyone!

‘How to Train your Dragon’ is #1 at the Weekend Box Office

Dreamworks film ‘How to Train your Dragon,’ came in #1 this weekend, with over $43 million.  Keep in mind that the inflated 3D ticket prices certainly helped.  ‘Alice in Wonderland’ came in at #2 with $17 million dollars, bringing its Box Office total to over $650 million (also a 3D film).  See the trailer below.

Red Carpet Fashion: American Cinematheque Awards

Here are some pictures from the American Cinematheque’s awards event.  The ‘American Cinematheque’ is a local, non-profit organization in Los Angeles dedicated to cinema.  Every year, it presents an award to a film-maker.  Past recipients include: Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, and Ron Howard.  This year, Matt Damon was selected, which made for some pretty funny jokes from Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck.   Interestingly, both Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel attended the the event with their new significant others.  Awkward?

Movie Review: ‘Waking Sleeping Beauty’

‘Waking Sleeping Beauty’ follows the resurrection of Disney Animation Studios between 1984 and 1994. Many believed that Disney animation was kaput after a string of failures, and ‘The Little Mermaid’ brought it back from the dead. I thought the film was both enlightening and entertaining. It was jam packed with information in a short period of time though, so I would recommend going to see it when you are fully awake. My only complaint is that I thought it was heavily critical of Jeffrey Katzenberg. They portrayed him as a spotlight stealing, unappreciative guy. I don’t think it was really acknowledged that a large part of Disney’s success during this time was attributed to Katzenberg. In fact, he left Disney right after ‘The Lion King,’ which was Disney’s last major Box Office success. See the trailer below, and then make time to go see this documentary.

Ben Stiller Reveals the Truth Behind Sacha Baron Cohen’s Squashed Oscar Bit

Ben Stiller was on Howard Stern last week and discussed his nixed ‘Avatar’ bit that he was set to do with Sacha Baron Cohen at the Oscars.  Many of you might remember Stiller dressed in blue at the Oscars, while making fun of ‘Avatar.’  Stiller was originally supposed to do the bit with Sacha Baron Cohen, who backed out at the last minute, allegedly because Oscar Producer’s feared that Cohen would offend James Cameron.  Cameron came forward and said that he didn’t mind being made fun of, but many still thought that Cameron’s feelings were behind the nixed bit.  Stiller put the rumors to rest, saying that Cohen himself pulled out of the bit, and it had nothing to do with either Cameron or Oscar Producers.  Click on the link below to watch Stiller at the Oscars.
