Taylor Momsen appeared on “This Morning” show in England to promote her band, ‘Pretty Reckless,” wearing a disturbing outfit for a 16 year old. First of all, I’m not sure why her band is touring at all when she’s sixteen. Second, I don’t even think that outfit would look good on a 25 year old let alone a young teenager. She looks pretty out of it, and the interview takes an uncomfortable turn when she says that she’s had a rough life and music “saved her.” I’m not sure what is going on behind the scenes, all I know is that the interview slightly unnerved me. The Gossip Girl finale is less than a week away, and I cannot wait. Watch a clip below to get a taste of the final episode. Mike Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly confirms that it will have all of the following plot details: a shooting; a departure; a threesome; an engagement ring; and a birth. Oh and did I mention the “plot twist.” Keep the guesses coming.
Someone in marketing over at the The CW needs to get fired . . . fast. To promote the resurgence of the Chuck and Blair feud on ‘Gossip Girl,’ the network released a poster of the beautiful Leighton Meester, with the tagline “The *itch is Back.” Yes I understand the pun, but my serious double take included thoughts about what STD Blair came down with. Not good. Click the link below to see the picture and judge for yourself. The *itch is Back
Watch the promo below. It contains all the reasons that the show has been annoying me lately. I’m hoping that with the Blair/Chuck rift, it will start to get better, because I don’t think the writers are equipped to keep them in coupledom. They were so overly blissful for so long, that it made my stomach turn. Ever heard of light and shade guys? I’m still a loyal fan though. It will take more than Chuck Bass saying ‘I love you’ over and over again to keep me away.
Rumors are swirling that it’s the end of Jenny Humphrey on ‘Gossip Girl.’ The network recently said that Taylor Momsen would take some time off next season for creative reasons, but now Momsen is suggesting that she may be done altogether. She was recently interviewed outside The Key Club in Los Angeles before performing with her band, ‘Pretty Reckless.’ When asked about the show, Momsen said, “it’s done dude.” Because most actors are under contract for five years of a show, and ‘Gossip Girl’ has yet to hit the five year mark, Momsen was likely fired and did not quit. Given that she can’t seem to keep her eyes open while reciting her lines lately, this doesn’t surprise me.
Click the ‘read more’ link below to find out some news about Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl next seasonEntertainment Weekly reports that Jenny Humphrey will be absent well into the next season of Gossip Girl. Something major happens with her character at the end of this season, which forces her off the show for a while. The CW claims that the choice was for “creative reasons.” My guess? I think something personal is going on with Taylor Momsen. She seems pretty out of it this season, and since her character isn’t taking any drugs . . . well you can fill in the blank yourself. Just a guess though.
The CW is experimenting with my biggest nightmare: full-length online advertising. I primarily watch my television shows online, mostly to avoid the endless commercials. I have long suspected that networks would start eliminating that luxury, as they are unable to really profit off of online advertising under the current model. This is not the first time The CW has experimented with online advertising. In 2008, they removed their online shows altogether in an attempt to increase ratings, which did not work. Unfortunately, shows like ‘Gossip Girl,’ though buzz worthy, just don’t generate the kind of ratings necessary to make The CW competitive with other networks. We’ll see how this current change works out.
