Jennifer Lopez Celebrates Birthday With Very Bold Dress

JLOHOTDRESSThe stars came out for Jennifer Lopez’s birthday bash, and by stars I mean the kind you get when you’ve been hit in the head with hotness and your vision is blurred for eternity. JLO rocked a curve-hugging, reveal-and-conceal dress with seductive cutouts and some serious ASSets. While some likened her bold Bao Tranchi dress to a similar Cushine et Ochs piece, the difference lies in the very daring details. And for all the ageist folks around town that have cried for a more conservative look for the 46th year old, perhaps they should let someone else stare at the sunlight. They don’t deserve it.

Cara Delevingne’s Awkward Interview — Anchors at Fault

When Cara Delevingne’s “awkward” interview with Good Day Sacramento was first brought to my attention, I made an uneducated assumption that she was likely in a surly mood, resulting in the anchors’ reaction. Then I watched the interview, and It became immediately clear that she wasn’t cantankerous at all, and instead of using their time for a productive conversation, they took advantage of the opportunity to rudely shit on the person they invited into their living room. First, there’s a delay, which results in a resting face that doesn’t match each question as it’s asked, which they should know. Second, when you make a bad joke, expect that you won’t get a laugh. Third, you three are a bunch of immature bullies, and if you can’t behave like an adult conducting an interview, then let someone else do your job. No part of that exchanged warranted that type of reaction, and Cara tried upon the first two attempts to brush off the insult, which was not respected.

Firepit Sessions Present King Washington

Adam Labov has an eye for musical talent, and the Los Angeles native cultivates his keen awareness by giving back, with an intimate concert experience around a firepit in his personal backyard. The relaxed vibe provides the perfect setting for food, drinks, and a sound quality that far surpasses any Los Angeles venue. You’d think the garden setting would only warrant an exclusive folksy vibe, but Labov knows how to present the perfect amalgam of genres, and even rock musicians have their place in this one-of-a-kind setting. For his latest Firepit Session Session, King Washington performed, and their incredible harmonies are worth sharing with the world. The humble group has been at it for over eight years, and they deserve everything coming to them. Listen below.

Quote of the Day: Alec Baldwin Talks Donald Trump

If Trump was the GOP nominee, it’s exactly what we deserve with the system that we have. There’s a part of me that would love to see Trump win. I would love to see Trump be the Republican nominee and run for President. I’m a huge campaign finance reform person. Money has destroyed the American political system. These guys are all NASCAR drivers with [their owners’] stickers on them.” Alec Baldwin to Howard Stern, on the current state of American politics.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation — Best Film of the Franchise

tomcruise mission impossibleWith each Mission Impossible film, the writers dominate the delicate dance of changing times, audience expectations, and Tom Cruise’s unstoppable capabilities as Hollywood’s leading man. For the fifth film in the franchise, Cruise not only came to play, he came to prove something.

Mission: ImpossibleRogue Nation delivers a daring, edge-of-your-seat experience with planes, water, motorcycles, and more. And this time around there’s a fearless woman on board that puts Black Widow to shame (and steals some of her moves). That women is Rebecca Ferguson, and it’s refreshing to see Cruise in need of an assist, especially when that assist is beautifully choreographed in a kick-ass fashion. She doesn’t need a man to come to the rescue — because she does the rescuing.

The film opens with a sense of humor and a now famous scene with Cruise dangling outside of a plane during takeoff (yes, that happened). Cruise’s mission is to take down The Syndicate, a network of special agents engaging in terrorist attacks. Unfortunately for him and his cohorts, the IMF has been disbanded, courtesy of some very hilarious dialogue from Alec Baldwin, which means if they’re going to fight this rogue nation, they have to do it without the support of the United States. They join forces with a disavowed British Agent who may or may not be their enemy, and she keeps the audience guessing from start to finish.

What sets this installment apart from the former films in the franchise is the ease at which it’s executed. The stunts are jaw-dropping, but when injected with a sense of humor, they work in a non-cartoonish way. The characters must take a moment to laugh at themselves, or we will laugh at them, and in this case, the former takes hold. Plus, who doesn’t want to see Tom Cruise attempt to hold his breath for three minutes flat? It’s also worth noting that this movie is both bold AND elegant, with careful choreography unlike any I’ve seen before, and a stunning scene at the opera where brute force is balanced by a beautiful solo. This film is not just a movie, it’s a cinematic experience.
