Mariah Carey v. Nicki Minaj — Diva Throwdown — WATCH

Nicki Minaj’s level of disrespect toward Mariah Carey on last night’s American Idol was astounding. And here’s some words of advice for Minaj. If you’re going to take digs at Mariah, perhaps you should pick topics that don’t involve her enormous success, considering you’re just a peon in comparison. Watch the clip below, and see how Minaj’s jealousy took over when someone complimented Mariah’s “All I Want For Christmas” being “the best modern day Christmas song.” Minaj couldn’t handle it, saying “It sure was wasn’t it,” which led to Mariah rightly responding with, “It still IS.”

The biggest culprits here are the producers, who missed the mark in hiring Minaj after Carey. The idea was to have a gigantic star like Mariah legitimize the show, but with Minaj’s attempt to take Mariah down a peg with “has-been” commentary, it waters down that purpose. It’s a huge blunder.

Kim Kardashian on Letterman — Did She Defraud Kris Humphries? — WATCH

If you’re wondering which Kardashian has the brains, the clip below will answer your question. When Letterman asked Kim Kardashian about whether she defrauded Kris Humphries into their 72 day marriage, Kardashian denied it. But the true genius in the exchange was Kourtney, who chimed in with, “If she was going to it for publicity, she’d pick someone that people knew.” Watch below.

American Idol Debuts — Did the Dueling Divas Play Nice?

american idolIt took me a solid fifteen seconds to realize the drastic error of combining Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj on the American Idol judging panel. The producers got greedy and thought that adding two power-house players instead of one would get even more viewers. The only problem? These dueling divas cancel each other out. The other problem? Nicki Minaj isn’t deserving of the slot. First, she’s more concerned with her own camera time than the contestants, and second, the true star is Mariah Carey, and Minaj is dimming her light. In fact, I’d venture to guess that she’s intentionally dimming her light out of her own insecurity. Mariah Carey is too good for this, and Nicki Minaj isn’t good enough. I feel sorry for her that she signed on prior to knowing that Minaj was hired, and I’m relatively certain her contractual obligation is the only reason she stayed.

Jessica Simpson Explains Wedding Delay: “He Keeps Knocking Me Up”

No one can call Jessica Simpson unlikable. She’s down-to-earth and moderately ridiculous, and she sure has come a long way since her, “is this tuna or chicken” days. Watch below to see her interview with Jay Leno, where she explains the extent to which she overate during her first pregnancy and how her fiance was proud to knock her up a second time.

Jennifer Lopez on Her Ex Files: “I’m Used to It”

Being trapped in a room with all of my exes is my version of hell. And It hadn’t occurred to me that Jennifer Lopez experienced just that at the Golden Globes, until Ellen DeGeneres brought it to her attention. JLO took it in stride though, explaining that because of the nature of her business, she’s used to it. In case your wondering whose in those ex-files, it includes: P. Diddy; Bradley Cooper; and Ben Affleck. Watch her discuss it below.

Oprah on Lance Armstrong: “He Didn’t Come Clean In the Manner I Expected”

If you’re going to come clean, Oprah is likely your best bet. She’s forgiving and honest, and she refrains from judgment. That being said, Lance Armstrong is done. It’s one thing to lie. It’s another to lie consistently, adamantly, and un-apologetically. I’ve re-watched his denials, and I’m astounded at the lengths of his lies. I’ll forgive for just about anything except ruining my reality. I believed him. I defended him. And no matter the accusations, I went with his “witch hunt” defense. Lastly, if you lie to me once, you’ll lie to me twice. So who’s to say the guy is actually contrite? Is he remorseful for lying — or for getting caught?

Watch Oprah’s recount below, in which she states that she had 112 questions and “prepared for the interview as if it was a college exam.”

Amy Poehler & Tina Fey at the Golden Globes — WATCH

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler’s Golden Globes opening monologue proved that mean & funny don’t always coincide. That being said, they had a couple great zingers worthy of repeating:

“When it comes to torture, I trust the lady that spent three years married to James Cameron.” On Kathryn Bigelow’s nomination

“Anne Hathaway, you gave a stunning performance in Les Miserables. I haven’t seen someone so totally alone and abandoned like that since you were on stage with James Franco at the Oscars.”
