My father once told me that men cheat on their wives with gross women, because married men have limited options. Once divorced, he said, those options increase. That certainly explains the Rielle Hunter affair. What it doesn’t explain is why John Edwards is still with this woman. He’s divorced now. Perhaps my dad’s theory doesn’t account for men whose affairs wind up in the tabloids. It must still be slim pickings for Edwards. I can only imagine what Jesse James’ next girlfriend will look like.
