Richard Belzer got in trouble for doing a Hitler salute during a TV festival in Monte Carlo. The Jewish comedian later dismissed the controversy by insisting it was merely a joke.
In case you’re not aware, The Dishmaster is Jewish, and to prove that poking fun at Hitler can actually be funny, I’ve posted a clip from John Cleese’s legendary British show, ‘Fawlty Towers.’ In it, you’ll see Cleese inappropriately impersonate Hitler while courting a group of German guests at his hotel. The episode is extremely famous for it’s catch-line, “Don’t mention the war.” Watch below.
