If Lady Gaga’s tears were authentic during the YouTube Awards, then I’d encourage her to seek professional help. If they were not, I’ve officially had it with the histrionics. Furthermore, I found the entire performance to be unprofessional. At this stage in the game, it’s feels like an inappropriate plea for attention, and it’s off-putting. I fully understand that certain artists will exhibit emotion while they perform. In fact, that’s a large part of Adele’s success (see ‘Someone Like You’). But that’s Adele. And the moment I feel as if you’re pulling my strings to prop yourself up, I will flee your fandom in favor of more moving artists. Watch below.
