Steve Lillywhite Continues his Pathetic Plea to Replace Simon Cowell on ‘American Idol’

Does anyone ever get a job this way?  And by “this way,” I mean posting pathetic videos over the internet that encompass old school groveling.  Steve Lillywhite, the music producer behind the first three releases from ‘Dave Matthews Band’ (back when Dave Matthews was actually listenable), wants to be the next ‘American Idol’ judge.  Sure he might know his stuff, but these online videos might actually work against him, as he is absolutely painful to watch.  When asked about Steve Lillywhite as a possible replacement, Simon Cowell gave a far less wordy critique than mine, by basically calling him ugly.  Watch the cringe-worthy video below.

Kara DioGuardi’s Father is Running for Senate

Joe DioGuardi, the father of ‘American Idol’ judge Kara DioGuari, is hoping to secure the Senate seat currently held by Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand.  He is up against two other Republicans for the nomination, and he isn’t afraid to use Kara’s name to help him.  She is set to appear by his side whenever she can.  Hmm….does this mean Kara is a Republican?  Who knew?

‘American Idol’ Needs to Bring Back Alex Lambert

It’s definitely not possible to bring a contestant back at this point.  That being said, the fact that Alex Lambert didn’t make the top 12 on American Idol, further proves my point that they should have had a wild card round this season.  Lambert might end up with a great career though.  His online following is growing.  Watch him perform below so that you can join me in my disappointment.

‘American Idol’ Top 12 Announced, no Wild Cards This Year

I am not sure if anyone is as disappointed as I am that there are no wild cards this year.  The wild card choices by the judges happened to be one of my favorite parts of the season.  You may remember it from the first three seasons of the show.  They brought it back last, and have nixed it again.  Without the wild cards, none of the following contestants would have advanced to the top 12: Clay Aiken; Matt Giraud; Kimberly Caldwell; and Jennifer Hudson.  There were other wild card choices by the judges over the years, but I left them off the list because if I told you who they were, it might not serve my point that the wild card round is a good idea.  Actually, I think Jennifer Hudson might be the only person that proves my point.  Oh well.

‘American Idol’ Will Cover the Rolling Stones Next Week

‘American Idol’ needed to plan something big next week for the top 12, and I think they’ve done it.  The singers will perform songs by the Rolling Stones.  No word yet on whether any members of the band will show up, but my guess is that they won’t.  I can’t even believe that the Stones agreed to release their songs on Idol, though its probably great promotion.

American Idol Must Return to the Three Judge Format Immediately

I find myself cringing throughout the entire show.  With Paula’s unconditional positivity gone, the show has become a bloodbath.  If the singer is bad, is it really necessary to have four judges bash the singer one after the other?  It’s painful to watch, and it’s just plain mean.  Four?!  Watch the slaughter fest below.
