Adele Performs on ‘SNL’ — WATCH NOW

Adele visited the tiny stage at ‘Saturday Night Live’ for a two part performance, which included her first singles off her new album, ’25.’ Watch below to see her sing “When We Were Young.” She wrote the song with 30 year old up-and-comer Tobias Jesso Jr., who just released his debut album, ‘Goon,’ to much critical acclaim. Jesso Jr. always aimed to be a songwriter, but his struggle toward success forced him to sing his own tunes instead. In fact, his very first show was last year, and according to Jesso Jr., “Before that, [he] had nothing, no hopes of getting to write for anybody, no big dreams I thought would ever come true.” He was “just a 28 year old in his parent’s basement learning the piano for the very first time.” So how did Adele find him, and what precisely sparked her interest? Apparently, the song “Hollywood” set the ball rolling, and she had her manager reach out to his manager, and she was shockingly fearful he’d reject her proposition. She now calls him her new “secret weopon,” and he calls her his “dream collaboration.”
