The Real Housewives franchise is cleaning house, and many of the toxic OGs are getting the axe. The latest casualty might not be an OG, but she certainly deserved the heave ho. Teddi Mellencamp joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a fresh, down-to-earth alternative to the series’ highfalutin energy. As the daughter of John Mellencamp she brought the cool factor but as time went on, she spent more time trying to emulate the other ladies, thereby resulting in awkward outfits, forced storylines, and fake outrage. But that’s not what cost her the diamond.
Teddi’s “All In” accountability program has been the subject of intense scrutiny, with former members alleging that participants are restricted to just 500 calories a day and are forced to report everything they’d like to eat to their accountability coach. For those that have seen HBO’s The Vow, there is a disturbing overlap between Teddi’s program and the NXVIM cult. Cult members were assigned a “master” and were forced to ask for permission for everything they ingested. Furthermore, Teddi’s program has been accused of being a multilevel marketing scheme, as the accountability coaches are not required to be nutritionist or dietitians. The only requirement for their leadership role in the program is that they themselves complete it. Given that they are giving advice on nutrition, you’d think they’d actually be nutritionists. My guess? Bravo didn’t want the bad press, and Teddi didn’t bring enough to the table for them to take up for her.
