Chelsea Handler Attacks Angelina Jolie

Though it’s certainly sad to see any marriage end, I can understand the press’s subtle glee with the Brangelina breakup. First, Angelina Jolie is a fundamentally unlikable star. She weirded us out with the Billy Bob blood vials and seemingly broke up another man’s marriage to America’s sweetheart. Sure you can’t take a man that isn’t already willing to leave, but it’s also low-hanging fruit. Longer relationships are susceptible to outside influence by the mere nature of time, boredom, and mundane life occurrences. The shiny and new will always seem superior. Plus, it’s Angelina Jolie, who is likely one of the last remaining movie-star Goddesses out there. Let’s also not forget their faux-family W Magazine spread which even Jennifer Aniston, who always takes the high road, called insensitive. Reports also circulated that Brad Pitt alienated his close circle of friends when he met Jolie, and she forbade him from acting in moves with sex scenes. One can therefore understand her questionable popularity.

There’s one looming question; however, that I’d like to address, and my readers are free to comment with their own hypothesis. Why does the public constantly pounce on their AMOUNT of children? Is it because they’re aghast at the idea that parents of such a large brood can’t seem to make it work, or is it because half of their kids are adopted? After all, six might seem like a lot, but no one comes down on Jim Gaffigan for it. Even Mel Gibson seemed to get a soft reaction to his now-ninth child.

When I saw the video below from Chelsea Handler, who I usually like, I couldn’t help but have a very negative reaction to her “85 kids” remark, which begged the aforementioned question, and she’s certainly not the only one to make this joke. Leave the kids out of it.

Christian Siriano Wins the Emmys Red Carpet

Designers often complain about dressing varied shapes, and major actresses have long claimed to have issues finding dresses for huge events as a result. The challenge of dressing a different form is welcomed by Christian Siriano; however, who slayed at the Emmys with looks for Leslie Jones, Niecy Nash, Kathy Bates, Angela Basset, and more. Here’s to the celebration of all shapes and sizes, courtesy of Christian Siriano.

Patton Oswalt Pays Tribute to His Late Wife at the Emmys

Grief is deeply personal for each individual, and though there’s no platitude that will push the pain away, celebrities sometimes offer helpful pockets of wisdom that could perhaps offer empathy and comfort to others. Patton Oswalt unexpectantly lost his wife, true crime writer MIchelle McNamara, leaving behind their young daughter, and Oswalt has been incredibly honest about his personal struggle. At the Emmys, he summed things up in just one minute, saying that “it’s going to be a long, long time before [he] can be the kind of person that she made [him] again.”

Mike Doughty’s New Video — Watch Now

I can’t say enough good things about Mike Doughty, who I had the pleasure to interview and whose career I constantly follow. There are some musicians who consistently deliver, and he’s one of them. In fact, at any point in time I can play any and all of his songs and enjoy it as if it’s the first time I listened. The former Soul Coughing frontman will release his new solo record, The Heart Watches While the Brain Burns, on October 14. To pre-order the record, click HERE. Calvin Harris Release “My Way” — Is it About Taylor Swift?

It always blows my mind how one massive celebrity can launch/solidify careers of every hanger on imaginable. In the case of Calvin Harris, for example, nearly every woman he dates post-Taylor Swift will receive a nugget of fame, because the world wants to know who the potentially broken-hearted man will find as a rebound. As for Tom Hiddleston, it will have the opposite effect. The man was Loki, a serious actor with an impressive resume, and for a brief moment in time, he was that guy wearing a I <3 Taylor Swift shirt at her July 4th party.

Calvin Harris might be talented in his own right, but his new song, “My Way” is grabbing attention for another reason, and it’s that the public wants to know if Taylor Swift is its subject. In fact, he repeats, “You were the one thing in my way,” A LOT, which isn’t exactly a Sunday New York Times crossword. It is worth nothing that man might need a lyricist. When Taylor Swift does this type of thing, there’s many, many more words. Listen below.

Ordinary World Starring Billy Joe Armstrong – Watch Trailer Now

This is the first I’ve heard of Billie Joe Armstrong’s starring vehicle, Ordinary Life, but from the look of the trailer, it’s going to be good. That’s not surprising considering Armstrong’s taste and shrewd career moves, especially in a world where musicians fade fast. In fact, Green Day has substantially improved over time, and Armstrong made it to Broadway with ‘American Idiot.’ Ordinary World is both written & directed by filmmaker Lee Kirk. It first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Ordinary World opens in limited theaters + on VOD starting October 14ththis fall.
