Is there anything that this guy does not think of? James Cameron, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Michelle Rodriguez, flew to Bahrain to screen Avatar for the United States military. Cameron’s brother is an ex-marine. Cameron stated that this was a “once-in-a-lifetime experience” and “to do something for the men and women who serve our country was a great privilege.”
Gossip Girl is one week away and the spoilers just keep on coming! Billy Baldwin will appear on the show as Serena’s dad. The show was courting him for quite some time, but Baldwin turned them down until they had a juicier part for him to play. Looks like he may be on the show for a while. This makes me very happy!
This show sure is successful. The cast of Glee will tour four cities and sing hit songs from the show. Before you start running to buy tickets though, keep in mind that the great Matthew Morrison/’Mr. Schuster’ will not be touring with the cast. I think this tour will be incredible. Most of the actors on the show have a musical theater background so it only makes sense to do a stage production. Who can forget Lea Michele in Broadway’s ‘Spring Awakening?’ Listen to some great songs from the show below.
Rumor has it that Jessica Simpson and her family were ‘disgusted’ by John Mayer’s playboy interview, in which he compared having sex with her to drugs (that’s a compliment). Personally, if a man went on the record discussing how good I am in bed, I don’t think I’d be too upset. Then again, that “man” is John Mayer. Enough said. Simpson will finally talk about it on Oprah. Click on the link to see the promo.
This was predicted a long time ago, so it doesn’t surprise me much, though I hoped it would be Tenley. I almost wonder if Ali deliberately left the show early to set her up to be the new Bachelorette. Watch an interview with Ali below, and tell me if you are excited about this choice.
Here is the lineup for Season 10: Pamela Anderson; Kate Gosselin ; Shannon Doherty; Nicole Scherzinger; Erin Andrews; Niecy Nash; Evan Lysacek; Aiden Turner; Jake Pavelka; Chad Ochocinco; and Buzz Aldrin. This lineup makes me mad. First of all, this show was originally supposed to be about putting has-beens or relatively unknowns back into the spotlight. It is not supposed to be about putting people into an even greater spotlight than they are already in. Evan Lysacek just won a gold medal for goodness sakes! If you want a gold medalist, choose Greg Louganis, who is a diving legend and was vying for the spot. Nicole Scherzinger!? Where are the has-beens!? Okay fine – Shannon Doherty and Pamela Anderson make me happy.
A ‘Brady Bunch’ reunion was planned on a morning show Wednesday, and it was nixed because Maureen McCormick and Eve Plumb don’t get along. The problems started when McCormick released her auto-biography, and she hinted at a lesbian relationship with Plumb. Plumb felt it was a desperate ploy to sell books and did not appreciate it. According to Radaronline, they never really liked each other. Regarding the feud, Susan Olsen/’Cindy’ said, “I love them both and this means whenever we get together for any project there will only be one or the other.”
Paris Hilton’s beer commercial in Brazil has created quite the firestorm. Apparently Americans are not the only prude ones. Remember the outrage in America over her Carl’s Jr. commercial? I’m not sure what all the fuss is about. I posted the ad below so you can see for yourself. I also posted the Carl’s Jr. ad just to confirm that Paris Hilton is very good at selling sex . . . oops I mean selling beer and burgers.
This is music to my ears. The fact that Scorsese is able to stay relevant after all these years amidst the insane ageism in Hollywood, makes me very happy. This is Shutter Island’s second week at number one, with a total gross of over 75 million dollars. It is also the most successful film opening for both Scorsese and DiCaprio. They make quite the team.
The William S. Paley Television Festival is held every year to celebrate all things television. The Paley Center for Media was founded in 1975, and was formerly known as the Museum of Television and Radio. At the festival, new shows and old shows are honored, and after episodes of each show are played, there is a panel discussion with the cast and creators. Some of the shows honored this year included ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ ‘Lost,’ ‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘Glee,’ ‘Dexter,’ and ‘Modern Family.’ One thing of note at this year’s festival was some Lost spoilers. See some pics from the festival below.
