No Doubt Promotes ‘Push and Shove’ on Good Morning America — Performs “Settle Down”

Gwen Stefani is one of my favorite front-women in history. It’s not just about the music. It’s about her stage-presence and her sweet-girl persona that she balances with a rock-star edge. I was devastated when she went solo, but I’m happy to see her back in the spotlight beside her band-mates. Watch her take the Good Morning America stage to perform “Settle Down” off No Doubt’s new record, Push and Shove.

The Lumineers Perform “Ho Hey” on Leno

Here at The Dishmaster, I like think of myself as having a musical ear. So you can only imagine my bragging rights about requesting an interview with The Lumineers shortly before they took off into the music stratosphere. Congratulations to the very kind members of The Lumineers. Watch them perform their bit hit, “Ho Hey,” on Leno, and click here to read my interview with the band.

Daniel Bedingfield Performs at The Mint — Wakes Up Los Angeles Crowd

Daniel Bedingfield did it again. This is my third time watching him perform live, and he has a unique way of turning the low-energy of an intimate venue into the raucous feel of a stadium. And in Los Angeles, that’s an enormous feat. True to form, he removed the tables at The Mint to open up the floor, and he continuously exited the stage to enter the crowd. At one point, he even stood on the table of two seated individuals in what I can only assume was a hilariously antagonistic poke at their refusal to join the fun. The guy knows what he’s doing. He not only performed the songs we know and love (see “Gotta Get Thru This”), but he also treated us to some impromptu covers with a twist of his astoundingly cool beat-boxing tactics. Needless to say, I will be following him around Los Angeles for many more shows to come. Be sure to get his new EP, ‘ Stop the Traffik: Secret Fear,’ and read my interview with him by clicking here: Daniel Bedingfield Interview.

Quote of the Day — Rupert Sanders Wife Talks About Her Marriage

“I would never say out loud that I am raising my children alone, but a lot of the time it has felt like that. I went from the glamor of working with Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano to living on an isolated hilltop, with my husband gone most of the time.” A vintage quote from Rupert Sanders’ wife, Liberty Ross, on the state of her marriage before his affair with ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ costar, Kristen Stewart.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Responds to Kristen Stewart’s Bombshell Affair — Double Standard?

When Elisabeth Hasselbeck insisted that we shouldn’t be “so quick to throw the Scarlett Letter on Kristen Stewart,” it became immediately clear that she’s queen of the double standard. And furthermore, the entire media is guilty of this too. Remember how we vilified Jude Law for cheating on Sienna Miller with his nanny? Had the celebrity in question been a man, God help him.

Modern Family Sues Fox — HOLY SH@#T!!!

Actor re-negotiations for hit shows are often messy, but not this messy. In shocking news, the cast of Modern Family sued 20th Century Fox to void their contracts, arguing that their contractual term exceeds seven years, which violates California law. It’s a surprising move in a relationship-based industry, but it’s clear that their contract re-negotiation went south fast. In a nutshell, here’s how the process usually works: Unknown actors sign to a show before it’s a hit, and their salary is often low. When the show becomes a massive sensation (as is the case with Modern Family), actors are almost always given a large raise, even though they are technically not entitled to it. The general idea is that studios want to keep the peace and they know actors will throw a fit at the idea of the studio and network pocketing large sums of money while they are stuck with their low salary. But when that re-negotiation doesn’t go as planned, studios play hard-ball and say things like, “Look, you’re bound to show up to work at your original salary. You’re lucky we’re offering you anything at all.” And sometimes it gets even uglier and they say things to the actors like, “If you don’t show up to work we’ll sue you for breach of contract.”

Apparently, the actors of Modern Family know how to play hard-ball even harder, because they went to court first, and they seem to have a viable argument if their contracts do in fact exceed the California 7 year rule. It’s brilliant that they all sued together. This way no one looks like a stand-out problem child. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds.

Kristen Stewart Admits to Cheating on Robert Pattinson — Has the World Gone Mad?

Kristen Stewart might have to kiss both her career and relationship goodbye, thanks to herself and Us Magazine, who revealed that she cheated on Robert Pattinson with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, who is married with children. In an official statement, Stewart said, “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.” There’s a few lessons to be learned here. First, sometimes the tabloids get it right. Second, if you’re famous, you better be smart about cheating. And third, can’t these lunatics just end their relationship first?

Bachelor Pad Debuts — Ed Admits to Cheating on Jillian

The biggest revelation on this season of Bachelor Pad happened about two minutes into the show when Ed Swiderski admitted to cheating on The Bachelorette’s Jillian Harris. Of their relationship, Ed said he’s “not an angel,” and he “definitely was not prepared to be in a serious relationship.” Um . . . WHAT?! Didn’t he get down on one knee at the end of the show? Did this revelation come before or after he popped the question? And if all of the details about what Ed actually did before he proposed are true, he might in fact be sociopathic.
