Fox Brings ’24’ to an End

After much speculation, it’s been confirmed that the eighth season of ’24’ is the last.  The last episode will air on May 24th.  Kiefer Sutherland and executive producer Howard Gordon also nixed rumors that NBC might house the show, saying that they were both ready to call it quits.  On a brighter note, Sutherland confirmed that a ’24’ film is in the works, and that the last season of the show lead into an upcoming film.

Uma Thurman’s New Film ‘Motherhood’ has Bombed After a Ghastly British Movie Release Experiment

Some genius producer for Uma Thurman’s new film, ‘Motherhood,’ decided that it would be a great idea to release the film in only one theater in England, hoping that the buzz would ultimately drive up the profit.  Needless to say, the idea was a gigantic misfire, and the film made about $130 bucks.  Now the bad press and poor word of mouth will destroy the film, which could have had a big opening weekend with more theaters.  Good job guys.

‘Project Runway’ Designer Anthony Williams Calls Heidi Klum a "Hanger"

Anthony Williams, the recently ousted “Project Runway’ designer, made some very bold comments about Heidi Klum in an interview with Movieline.  When asked if he respected her opinion, he said “the only time I thought that her thoughts were of great merit in my mind was when she was talking to the models of the runway. Because that’s her profession. In my mind, she’s a beautiful hanger. In my house, hangers don’t talk.”  Wow, he sure said what I’ve been thinking for a long time.  She isn’t a designer.  She’s a model.  Certainly she can have a valuable opinion, but unlike Ellen Degeneres on ‘American Idol,’ the show doesn’t represent her as the layman.  See some pictures from Anthony’s Bryant Park collection.  He was amongst the top ten designers that showed at Fashion Week, but only the top three will make it to air.  It’s unfortunate that you won’t see his collection on television, because it is so stunning.

3D Movies Cause a Major Ticket Price Increase

Attention movie lovers!  You might not be able to afford the movies anymore.  This 3D movie craze is greatly costing the consumer.  Ticket prices for 3D movies have increased by 20%, and just about every upcoming movie will be in 3D, in an effort by studios to drain us of every last penny.  This 3D craze hasn’t been in effect long enough to see how moviegoers will respond.  I hate ‘Avatar’ more and more everyday for this crap.  The whole reason I even went to see ‘Avatar’ was because I thought it was this unique event that I wouldn’t be able to ever get again, especially if I were to rent the movie later.  Now that every film is in 3D, I’ll definitely think twice about spending the money.  It’s not worth the $20 dollars or the subsequent headache and eye pain that I get after seeing it.  Ticket buyers need to “vote with their wallets.”

Chloe Sevigny Insults ‘Big Love’ – The Show that Made her Famous

Chloe Sevigny must have taken a page out of Katherine Heigl’s bite-the-hand-that feeds-you textbook.  She recently insulted the latest season of HBO’s ‘Big Love,’ calling it “awful.”  She explained that the writers were really “pushing it,” and that they were “squishing too much in.”  She has received quite the backlash, and just released a new statement to the press saying that her “comments were taken out of context.”  I don’t know what is wrong with actors feeling like they can go to the press and insult the show’s writers.  That conversation should take place behind the scenes.  It’s just disrespectful.

Simon Cowell Will Receive Honorary Emmy

Simon Cowell is receiving an International Emmy Founders Award for “having reshaped 21st century television and music around the world.” According to Bruce Paisner, President of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Cowell has “changed the face of TV around the world.” Wow, that is quite the honor. Although ‘American Idol’ has been very successful, let us not forget that that show was Simon Fuller’s idea and not Simon Cowell’s. It began as ‘Pop Idol’ in England. Furthermore, ‘X Factor,’ is Cowell’s ripoff of Fuller’s idea, which Fuller later sued him for. The matter settled out of court and now Fuller is credited as a creator on ‘X Factor.’ I’m not saying he isn’t worthy of the honor, but lets not sit around and pretend the guy is Aaron Spelling. I think he’s more of a Television personality than he is a series creator.

Prince Ordered to Pay 3 Million Dollars

Looks like Prince is finally paying the price for his diva-tude. He was ordered to pay 3 million dollars for canceling a concert just three days before the event.  The lawsuit settled out of court, but the matter was brought back to court after Prince refused to pay the settlement money. Prince’s representatives (who he blamed for the concert cancellation) were not ordered to pay anything.  Let’s see if he actually pays up this time.

Red Carpet Fashion: ‘The Last Song’ Movie Premiere

Here are some pictures from yesterday’s film premiere of the ‘The Last Song.’  The film stars Miley Cyrus and her current boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth.  It opens Wednesday, March 31.  I am not sure what the film is about, but since it is based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, I am guessing someone dies.

Angelina Jolie to Play the Wicked Fairy Godmother in ‘Sleeping Beauty’ Remake?

I just learned that Disney is toying with the idea of revamping ‘Sleeping Beauty,’ with the wicked fairy godmother as the star, instead of sleeping beauty.  Linda Woolverton, the writer for ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ is working on the screenplay.  Disney is also rumored to be courting Tim Burton.  I will definitely get behind this idea if Tim Burton is not involved.  Am I the only person that thinks everyone one of his films is exactly the same.  Let me guess, Burton will sign Johnny Depp to play a character with a weird hat on, and make the film very dark and gloomy.  I do fully support the idea of Jolie as the godmother though.

Yes! John Corbett Will be in ‘Sex and the City 2’

John Corbett was thankfully lying when he said he would not be appearing in the next ‘Sex and the City’ movie.  He apparently will show up somehow in Morroco, though the story line is unclear.  He told Ellen Degeneres that he can finally confirm the news because he will be seen in the trailer.  Personally, I have always liked Mr. Big more than Aiden, but I am all for the men fighting over Carrie.  Watch him break the news below.
