Chloe Sevigny Insults ‘Big Love’ – The Show that Made her Famous

Chloe Sevigny must have taken a page out of Katherine Heigl’s bite-the-hand-that feeds-you textbook.  She recently insulted the latest season of HBO’s ‘Big Love,’ calling it “awful.”  She explained that the writers were really “pushing it,” and that they were “squishing too much in.”  She has received quite the backlash, and just released a new statement to the press saying that her “comments were taken out of context.”  I don’t know what is wrong with actors feeling like they can go to the press and insult the show’s writers.  That conversation should take place behind the scenes.  It’s just disrespectful.

Simon Cowell Will Receive Honorary Emmy

Simon Cowell is receiving an International Emmy Founders Award for “having reshaped 21st century television and music around the world.” According to Bruce Paisner, President of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Cowell has “changed the face of TV around the world.” Wow, that is quite the honor. Although ‘American Idol’ has been very successful, let us not forget that that show was Simon Fuller’s idea and not Simon Cowell’s. It began as ‘Pop Idol’ in England. Furthermore, ‘X Factor,’ is Cowell’s ripoff of Fuller’s idea, which Fuller later sued him for. The matter settled out of court and now Fuller is credited as a creator on ‘X Factor.’ I’m not saying he isn’t worthy of the honor, but lets not sit around and pretend the guy is Aaron Spelling. I think he’s more of a Television personality than he is a series creator.

Prince Ordered to Pay 3 Million Dollars

Looks like Prince is finally paying the price for his diva-tude. He was ordered to pay 3 million dollars for canceling a concert just three days before the event.  The lawsuit settled out of court, but the matter was brought back to court after Prince refused to pay the settlement money. Prince’s representatives (who he blamed for the concert cancellation) were not ordered to pay anything.  Let’s see if he actually pays up this time.

Red Carpet Fashion: ‘The Last Song’ Movie Premiere

Here are some pictures from yesterday’s film premiere of the ‘The Last Song.’  The film stars Miley Cyrus and her current boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth.  It opens Wednesday, March 31.  I am not sure what the film is about, but since it is based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, I am guessing someone dies.

Angelina Jolie to Play the Wicked Fairy Godmother in ‘Sleeping Beauty’ Remake?

I just learned that Disney is toying with the idea of revamping ‘Sleeping Beauty,’ with the wicked fairy godmother as the star, instead of sleeping beauty.  Linda Woolverton, the writer for ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ is working on the screenplay.  Disney is also rumored to be courting Tim Burton.  I will definitely get behind this idea if Tim Burton is not involved.  Am I the only person that thinks everyone one of his films is exactly the same.  Let me guess, Burton will sign Johnny Depp to play a character with a weird hat on, and make the film very dark and gloomy.  I do fully support the idea of Jolie as the godmother though.

Yes! John Corbett Will be in ‘Sex and the City 2’

John Corbett was thankfully lying when he said he would not be appearing in the next ‘Sex and the City’ movie.  He apparently will show up somehow in Morroco, though the story line is unclear.  He told Ellen Degeneres that he can finally confirm the news because he will be seen in the trailer.  Personally, I have always liked Mr. Big more than Aiden, but I am all for the men fighting over Carrie.  Watch him break the news below.

Paula Abdul Will Star in Broadway Show ‘In the Heights’

I take back what I said about Abdul’s management team.  It seems she finally made a good decision since leaving ‘American Idol.’  Radar Online reports that she will be starring in the hit Broadway show, ‘In the Heights,’ as Priscilla Lopez.    The show’s story revolves around the lives of Dominican Americans that live in the Washington Heights area of New York City.  It won the Tony for Best Musical in 2008, and a Grammy for Best Musical Show Album that same year.  See a performance from the show below.

New Promos for this Monday’s ‘Gossip Girl’

New promos have been released and let’s just say that, judging from the first clip, this Monday’s episode seems to be a bit disturbing.  Check it out below.

‘At the Movies’ is Cancelled

This is a sad day.  ‘At the Movies’ with A.O. Scott and Michael Phillips, has been canceled.  The source of my sadness is really attributed to the memory of Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert in their heyday on this show.  It began with the title, ‘Siskel and Ebert at the Movies,’ and later became ‘At the Movies with Ebert and Roeper,’ after Siskel’s death.  When Ebert had to exit the show due to health reasons, it went through various incarnations until it became what it is now.  Many people are attributing the cancellation to the changing movie critic tide.  Personally, I would like to think that the magic of Siskel and Ebert just couldn’t be recreated.  Also, Ebert took his thumbs with him when he left.  And there’s no one like Ebert.

Demi Lovato and Boyfriend Joe Jonas Sing ‘Make a Wave’ on ‘American Idol’

This song is so cheesy I think I gained ten pounds just listening to it (you know . . . from the cheese).  Sigh – watch below.
