If there’s anything I know about the entertainment industry, it’s that executives are not kind about letting you out of your contract to do “other work,” especially when it might hurt their ratings. While I know nothing about Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s contract, rumor has it he’s tied up until 2015, which means his option for this season was not exercised. My guess is he’s a pain in the ass and ABC has had it. My theory is especially curious, considering many of the well-known professional dancers are not returning. That being said, Maksim was one of my favorites, and I’m sad to see him go. Here’s hoping he returns someday.

Homeland Recap — Brody’s Daughter Deserves The Boot
Homeland is a brilliant show with some brilliant actors. Having said that, the daughter and wife have to go. The actors are terrible, and their story-lines are tired and annoying. Casting doesn’t always get it right, and I’m sure after they paid Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, and Mandy Patinkin, they simply ran out of money. That has to be the explanation for these awful performances, right? Watch a clip below of Dana’s character (played by Morgan Saylor), who insists for the 528th time that she “has to tell” the police about her hit-and-run, even though everyone on the planet (including the viewing audience) thinks it’s a bad idea.
Derek Hough’s Samba Sizzles — Tribal Triumph
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. There is no better choreographer on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ than Derek Hough. He’s original and incredible. Sure his samba lacked substantial samba content, but with a dance like that, the rules should be rewritten. Watch below to see his performance with Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas.
Dancing With the Stars After Party — Lacey Schwimmer Sings
I was invited to the Dancing With the Stars After Party by AT&T (the show’s sponsor), and though the very beautiful Joanna Krupa was stranded in New York for Hurricane Sandy related reasons, it was still quite enjoyable. The show is an online pit stop for post-dance chatter and it’s a fun group gathering. Though I was about to post a video from that evening, I stumbled across a previous performance by Lacey Schwimmer that I had to post. Who knew she had singing aspirations? Watch her sing with the It Boys, and click HERE to see more videos from the After Party.
Sabrina Bryan Eliminated From DWTS — A Predictable Shocker
When the same thing happens twice, it isn’t shocking — it’s predictable. There’s a reason Sabrina Bryan got eliminated early during her first stint on Dancing With the Stars, and there’s a reason she got eliminated early as an all-star. In short, she just isn’t likable. Her personality comes off as dull, and if the audience doesn’t connect, you’re done. Just ask Kirstie Alley, whose likablility far surpasses her talent. You just can’t buy charisma. And furthermore, the crying during her last performance was a little too schmaltzy for my taste. But then again — my heart is made of stone. Watch the elimination below.

Carrie Ann Inaba Takes a Tumble — Gilles Rescues Her
The great part about Carrie Ann Inaba’s wipe-out on Dancing With the Stars was the very hot Gilles Marini rushing over to rescue her, followed by Bruno Tonioli’s hilarious “me too” mock-fall in hopes that Gilles would also come to his rescue. And let’s not forget the very memorable one-liner from Tom Bergeron (A.K.A. the improvisational God). Watch below.

Andy Cohen Tells Jill Zarin Why He Fired Her
The Dishmaster loves honestly, so it was refreshing to see Andy Cohen hit Jill Zarin between the eyes when she asked him why he fired her from The Real Housewives of New York. The only thing he could have done differently was rephrased his last sentence to, “The viewers didn’t like you anymore.”
