I have no idea why this didn’t occur to me earlier. Jesse James allegedly approached Barbara Walters for his image clearing interview, and she turned him down out of loyalty to Sandra Bullock. I noted in my previous post that I thought the interviewer that he chose, Vicki Mabrey, came off as judgmental and certainly didn’t help him plead his case. At the time, I thought that he should have chosen Babs, but now I realize that Babs rejected him!

Jesse James Sits Down With Nightline – Vicki Mabrey Seems Angry
Jesse James agreed to an interview to “set the record straight,” and unfortunately, he chose a judgmental woman to do the interview. I realize it’s better for him to be interviewed by a female, given that a man (such as Matt Lauer) might high-five his pussy conquests mid-interview, but wouldn’t it have been better to choose someone a little less angry? Judging from the clip, Vicki Mabrey is one step away from asking the question pervading her mind – “What the fuck is wrong with you Jesse James!?” Thankfully, it appears that she bit her tongue before her head exploded. Barbara Walters would have been the obvious choice, but since she’s recovering from heart surgery, I imagine he chose what he thought was the second-best option. Barbara Walters announced she is having heart surgery on ‘The View.’ I’m posting the clip because I am a huge Babs fan, so I’ll be devastated to see her absent from the panel. The only entertaining part of the clip below, is the annoying inquisition from her fellow panelists about everything under the sun. Didn’t they brief the ladies on not asking The Queen a bazillion questions?
19 Year Old Kick-Ass Star, Aaron Johnson, Engaged to 43 Year Old Actress
I usually evade celebrity personal lives, but I couldn’t resist this story. Aaron Johnson, the 19 year old ‘Kick-Ass’ star, is engaged to his 43 year old pregnant girlfriend, Sam Taylor-Wood. This will be the third child for Wood, whose two other children come from a previous 11 year marriage. Johnson explains away the criticism by saying, “I’m an old soul and she’s a young soul.” Johnson needs to make a personal phone call to Patrick Dempsey. Dempsey married his acting coach, Rocky Parker, at the height of his career when he was 21 and she was 48. In a Barbara Walters interview, Dempsey said that he “needed a mother,” and he still has scars from the union. I wonder if Johnson will have the same feelings 20 years from now. Those two really need to have coffee together.
Olivia Newton-John’s Ex-Boyfriend – FOUND ALIVE!?
I am not sure what to believe. It’s being reported that Newton-John’s ex-boyfriend, Patrick McDermott, has been found in a Mexican sleeping village and just “wants to be left alone.” He disappeared amidst financial troubles in 2005, days after he and Newton-John ended their 9 year relationship. It’s believed that he’s been working as a ship’s mate on a tourist yacht ever since. If it’s true that he’s been found, ‘Dateline’ will probably get the credit. They hired a private investigator to track him, who reported finding him not too long ago, but no one, including Newton-John believed it. I’ll believe it when I see him sitting down with Barbara Walters.
Tiger Woods First Interview Since the Scandal Will Air Tonight
Tiger Woods is allegedly sitting down for a one-on-one interview with ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi Sunday (tonight) at 7pm. The interview was supposed to be hush-hush, but the story was leaked, probably as a ploy to boost ratings. I’m actually not sure why an interview would air without any promotion whatsoever. What is the point of doing an interview if no one knows to tune in? I guess Tiger didn’t take Barbara Walters’ advice when she said not to do an interview. Ironically, I was hoping that if he agreed to do a sit-down interview, it would be with Babs herself. I think he wanted the ESPN sports audience to tune in in time for the Masters. Sandra Bullock Pulls out of London Premiere of ‘The Blind Side’
This is crazy. Sandra Bullock has pulled out of the UK premiere of ‘The Blind Side.’ The premiere was set for next Tuesday, but Warner Bros. canceled it after Bullock pulled out due to “unforeseen personal circumstances.” The tabloids are growing crazy with speculation that Jesse James cheated on Bullock while she was filming ‘The Blind Side.’ This might strike you as nuts considering she just discussed her happy marriage on Barbara Walters’ Oscar special. Not that I believe it, but keep in mind that that Oscar special is filmed quite some time before the Oscars, and it just looks current because of when it is aired.
Entertainment Weekly Needs to Back-off of Barbara Walters
Mr. Ken Tucker, of Entertainment Weekly, wrote a piece about how he did not enjoy Barbara Walters Oscar special. Not only did he not enjoy this one, he seems to have not enjoyed any of them. I am sure you can predict where I am going with this one. I am a die hard Babs fan, and how dare he insult the Queen! Lay off Mr. Tucker. Barbara Walters is Done With Her Oscar Specials
Barbara Walters has decided to hang up her Oscar specials because she has “been there, done that.” I don’t know about you, but this makes me very sad. I love Barbara Walters, and I look forward to her Oscar special every year. This year she will be interviewing Sandra Bullock and Monique. Watch her make this announcement below.
