The North Shore-LIJ Gala — The Stars are Shiny

The North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System held its Destination Celebration spring gala on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City. Hosted Meredith Vieira and Bravo’s Andy Cohen, the evening included a performance by Harry Connick Jr. and a fireworks show on the Hudson. As The nation’s third-largest, non-profit, secular healthcare system, the evening successfully raised over $21 million for the health system that annually serves 4 million patients across the greater New York area. Enjoy some red carpet pictures below.

Octomom Nadya Suleman’s Children Invade The Today Show

If I were a lesbian, I’d want to marry Ann Curry and adopt lots of babies with her. First, she’s been a news anchor on The Today Show since 1997, and she was consistently passed up for the co-anchor gig. Instead of stomping her feet and quitting, Curry patiently waited, and when Meredith Viera left, NBC finally gave Curry the job. I’m happy for her, and her interview Nadya Suleman solidifies that she’d not only make a great mother to our future adopted children, but she’s also a good interviewer under pressure. Suleman’s eight children literally tore the house down, and one kid actually tripped over the set, and Curry rescued him. Suleman; however, did not seem the slightest bit fazed. Watch the clip below, and notice how the it took 4 staff members to come to the rescue.

Robert Downey Jr. Discusses Mel Gibson and Charlie Sheen — Or Does He?

Robert Downey Jr. is either the greatest interview or the worst interview.  When you piss him off, he’ll let you know.  While promoting his new film, Due Date, on The Today Show, Meredith Viera asked him some very uncomfortable questions about his friendships with Mel Gibson and Charlie Sheen, and Downey didn’t look pleased.  He insisted that Gibson hired him when no one else would, and when asked what he would say to Charlie Sheen, Downey said, “whatever I would say to him.”  There’s nothing that annoys me more than asking a celebrity about other celebrities during their interview.  If you can’t land Mel Gibson or Charlie Sheen to interview, then why not ask Robert Downey, Jr. about them, right?  How about next time Meredith asks Robert Downey Jr. about Robert Downey Jr.
