‘Real World: D.C,’ has the Lowest Ratings in ‘Real World’ History

You should have seen the smile on my face when I read this.  According to the Washington Post, this season’s finale drew the “smallest audience in the show’s 23 edition history.”  Finally, there are consequences for your show being horrible.  I originally thought that the show went south when its co-creator, Mary-Ellis Bunim, died in 1994.  After doing further research though, I discovered that it hasn’t been good since the Chicago cast in 2002.  Things officially began going downhill with Las Vegas.  It was their highest rated show, and producers thought that they should continue the charade of drinking, fighting, and sex.  The problem is that Las Vegas actually had a moderately compelling cast, which hasn’t happened since.  Maybe this season’s ratings will finally be a wake-up call.

Mtv Separates ‘Jersey Shore’ Cast

According to TMZ, Mtv is taking many precautions to catch all the juicy (no pun intended) ‘Jersey Shore’ moments on television.  Mtv is bringing the cast to Miami in separate cars.  That way if they want to fool around with each other, they will have to wait until they arrive in Florida.  Pretty genius as far as I’m concerned.  No word yet on what the new name for the Miami show will be.  I’m certain there will be plenty of drama though!

Pictures from ‘The Black Eyed Peas’ Concert in Los Angeles

I think Lady Gaga has upped the ante on concert attire.  Since she started her over the top fashion presence, everyone seems to want to copy it.  Below you’ll see pictures of Fergie from the ‘Black Eyed Peas’ concert on May 29, 2010.  Before Gaga, Fergie never would have dressed like that.

‘Salt’ Trailer Released

Below you’ll see the trailer for ‘Salt.’  Since it’s not really clear from the trailer what the film is actually about, I’ll give you a brief synopsis.  Angelina Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, on the run in an attempt to clear her name, after being accused of being a KGB sleeper agent.  Tom Cruise was originally supposed to play the lead role of Edwin Salt, but the film was rewritten for Jolie after he dropped out, and the main character’s name was changed to Evelyn.  Jolie was suggested for the lead, as an idea to create a female spy franchise.  The trailer seems to trespass greatly on Jason Bourne ground, but I will withhold my judgment until I see the film.  Besides, I’m all for female action stars!

Former ‘Desperate Housewives’ Actor Fired for Turning Down Sex Scene

I hope Virgiinia Madsen didn’t take this personally.  Contact Music reports that Neal McDonough refused to do a sex scene with her on their new show, ‘Scoundrels,’ and has since been replaced.  He is catholic and allegedly called the scene “inappropriate.”  I think he and Kirk Cameron should have a conversation about transitioning to religious based roles.  I predict that’s where he’s headed if this story is true.

Didi Benami Reveals Who she sang ‘What Becomes of the Brokenhearted’ for

If you watched ‘American Idol’ on Tuesday, you would have seen an uncomfortable moment where Ryan Seacrest asked Didi Benami why she was so emotional when singing her song in rehearsal.  She avoided the answer, and she has since revealed it.  The song was for her friend that died in a car accident in 2005.  She did not want to discuss it on national television, fearing that bringing it up would make her cry hysterically on stage.  I’m sad to see her go, especially since there were so many other performances that stunk that night.  She was one of my favorites.  See her sing the song below.

The CW Changes Online Advertisements to Full Length Commercials

The CW is experimenting with my biggest nightmare: full-length online advertising.  I primarily watch my television shows online, mostly to avoid the endless commercials.  I have long suspected that networks would start eliminating that luxury, as they are unable to really profit off of online advertising under the current model.  This is not the first time The CW has experimented with online advertising.  In 2008, they removed their online shows altogether in an attempt to increase ratings, which did not work.  Unfortunately, shows like ‘Gossip Girl,’ though buzz worthy, just don’t generate the kind of ratings necessary to make The CW competitive with other networks.  We’ll see how this current change works out.

Fox Removes Sarah Palin Promo Featuring LL Cool J

In an effort to promote Sarah Palin’s new show, Fox ran a promo which made it appear like LL Cool J was doing an interview with her.  The actual interview is from 2008, and Fox edited it to make it appear current.  Needless to say, LL Cool J wasn’t pleased, stating on his twitter page that “Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else & are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palin’s Show.”  Fox has since removed it.  See the promo below.  This controversy might be the best thing to happen to LL’s career in a long time.  At least he’s in the news!
