What a bummer. I just can’t imagine that Babs will be happy sipping margaritas by the beach, but who knows. Watch her retrospective on The View, as she announced her official retirement. I’m sure gonna miss her.

Barbara Walters Retires — THE.END.OF.AN.ERA
This news hit me hard. Barbara Walters is my favorite interviewer in history, and getting an extra dose of her on The View has made for a consistent daily treat. In fact, when she’s not there, I quickly change the channel. I should have predicted the announcement, even though I was holding out hope that she’d pull a Mike Wallace and work for infinity. Her interview-style is um-matched asking short, poignant questions sans judgment, and getting more information than anyone else while doing it. She’s the queen. But this time around, there will be no one else to take her throne. Watch some of her most memorable interviews below.

These kids today are so confusing. I saw Pistol Annies perform on The View and thought, “That girl on the right sure looks like Miranda Lambert.” I think you know how this lead-up ends — IT WAS HER. Chris Cuomo Gets Criticized for Amanda Knox Interview — WATCH A CLIP
It is an interviewer’s job to get the information, not to re-try a case. And Chris Cuomo learned that lesson the hard way with his recent Amanda Knox interview on CNN. He acted as a cross-examiner, excitingly pushing the prosecution’s theories about Knox’s “deviant sexual activities” with an undertone of judgment. Not even Barbara Walters passed judgment during her interviews with some of the worst tyrants in history. Cuomo should take a note from her book. He got in the way of the interview, and as a result, the subsequent press is more about him than Knox. I’ve been a Cuomo fan for some time, so I’ll give him a pass — but let’s hope he learned a lesson.
Wade Robson: “Michael Jackson Was a Monster”
This news sent shock waves through my system. After years of perpetually defending Michael Jackson and even publicly mourning his death, Wade Robson has accused the late singer of sexual abuse. Robson, a well-known choreographer, was a key witness in the 2005 case against Jackson, testifying under oath that no such foul play happened. He is now suing the estate, claiming that his delayed suit is a result of having repressed his painful memories.
There’s not much to say here other than I have no idea what to believe. At the time of Jackson’s death, Robson publicly mourned, rehashing details of his family’s friendship with the mega-star. There’s no current evidence that Robson is financially strained either. As for Jackson’s estate, they’re calling Robson “outrageous” and “pathetic.”
If you’re unfamiliar with his work, watch the videos below.

Howard Stern Showcases Subway Performers — Geechee Dan Kills It
Howard Stern is known for his creative bits, but this one blew me away. He showcased some of New York’s best subway singers, and one in particular caught my interest. His name is “Geechee Dan,” and something tells me he never really understood the extent of his talent. Perhaps Stern can refer him to the folks over at America’s Got Talent and give this guy a career. Listen below. He performs Otis Redding’s ‘Try a Little Tenderness’ around the 7 minute mark.
