Nygel Lythgoe has finally explained why Paula Abdul never made an appearance on ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’ After her ‘American Idol’ negotiations fell through, Nigel tried to get her for SYTYCD. Regarding his efforts Nigel said, “I spent an entire season wooing her and if she was ever going to do it, she would have. The timing was perfect for her. I was rather shocked she didn’t pick up and join us at any point. I mean, Katie Holmes was there, Jennifer Lopez was there. I know we don’t have Idol money and so does Paula, but at the end of the day I do plenty of things for no money because I want to support dance. And as an dancer/performer/choreographer, I would have thought she’d like to support us.” It sounds like Abdul needs to sack her new manager. She hired David Sonenberg as a manager early last year right around the time she made all of these erratic career choices. First she loses her ‘American Idol’ gig, then she turns down SYTYCD, and her recent ‘Star Search’ negotiations fell through. It’s time to get a new team Paula.

Lance Armstrong professed his forgiveness of Tony Kornheiser on his twitter page, after they had a “decent chat” about Korneiser’s cyclist hater comments. To review, this is what Tony Korn-hole said: “They don’t share the road. They dominate the road. They dare you to run them down. Then when you do, they get angry. What is that about? So you tap them. I’m not saying you kill them. I’m saying you tap them. Tap them once. If you’re not rubbing, you’re not racing right? So you pop them a little bit and see what happens.” If you are unfamiliar with Mr. Korn-tard, he is the ESPN jerk-off who was suspended for making comments about co-worker Hanna Storm’s wardrobe. Here’s what he said about her: “Hannah Storm is in a horrifying, horrifying outfit today. She’s got on red go-go boots and a catholic school plaid skirt. Way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now. And she’s got on her typically very, very tight shirt. So she looks like she’s got sausage casing wrapping around her upper body. I mean, I know she’s very good, and I’m not supposed to be critical of ESPN people, so I won’t … But, Hannah Storm, come on now! Stop! What are you doing? … [She’s] what I would call a Holden Caulfield fantasy at this point.” Can someone please fire this guy?
Richie Sambora Launches Clothing Line – Heather Locklear Attends Fashion Show
Don’t get too excited about a reunion between these two. Although Heather Locklear attended his fashion show yesterday in Los Angeles, Richie wasn’t even there. He was “stuck in Canada.” If you haven’t heard, Richie Sambora collaborated with designer Nikki Lund for their fashion line called ‘White Trash Beautiful.’ Heather and Richie’s daughter Ava Sambora, modeled at the show. Perhaps that is why Heather was there.
Kara DioGuardi’s Father is Running for Senate
Joe DioGuardi, the father of ‘American Idol’ judge Kara DioGuari, is hoping to secure the Senate seat currently held by Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand. He is up against two other Republicans for the nomination, and he isn’t afraid to use Kara’s name to help him. She is set to appear by his side whenever she can. Hmm….does this mean Kara is a Republican? Who knew?

It’s Official: Freida Pinto is the Next Bond Girl
Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto should be throwing a big party as we speak. She has landed the role opposite Daniel Craig in the next Bond film. The film is set in Afghanistan, and it will be directed by ‘American Beauty’s’ Sam Mendes. Mendes hopes to reinvent the genre, considering that 2008’s ‘Quantum of Solace’ largely underwhelmed at the domestic box office. Pinto will make motion picture history as the first Indian Bond girl.
Lady Gaga’s Former Mentor Sues her for $35 Million – Gaga’s People Respond
Lady Gaga and music producer Rob Fusari signed a deal back in 2006 before anyone really knew who Gaga was. Fusari claims that he was instrumental in getting her signed to a record deal after discovering her at an open mike night in New York. He also co-produced her debut album, ‘The Fame.’ Things went bad between them when Gaga dumped Fusari, after he disapproved of where she was taking her image. Gaga’s camp has responded to the suit by claiming that her contract with Fusari was illegal, as Fusari was acting as an unlicensed talent agent, and he “took advantage of an inexperienced recording artist.” My take? I think Gaga’s in hot water. Her response to the lawsuit sounds desperate, and something tells me this contract was perfectly fine. She signed a contract giving Fusari a part of her earnings when she was a nothing, he got her famous, and she dropped him and doesn’t want to pay up. Furthermore, it’s ridiculous to say he was acting as an unlicensed talent agent. He can just claim he was acting as a manager (managers in Hollywood don’t need a license). This will definitely settle out of court.
Affairs in Review: Other Celebrities that Caught their Man Cheating Via Tabloids
In the real world, when you find out that someone you know is being cheated on, you wonder whether it’s appropriate to tell the person. Do they really even want to know? Is it my business to spill the beans? In Hollywood, the tabloids do the dirty work for you. Unfortunately, Sandra Bullock is not alone. Other celebrities that found out about affairs through the tabloids include: Sienna Miller; Halle Berry; and Uma Thurman. Uma Thurman admitted on Howard Stern that she found out about Ethan Hawke’s affair through the National Enquirer. Hawke allegedly cheated on her with an actress on one of his films and interestingly later married the nanny that he and Uma shared while they were married. Halle Berry confessed to Oprah that Eric Benet admitted to cheating on her after she threatened to sue a tabloid about the story. Jude Law confessed to cheating on Sienna Miller with his children’s nanny after Britain’s The Sunday Mirror broke the story. Would they have found out otherwise? Who knows.

Hollywood Remake Alert: Jennifer Lopez Will Star in ‘Overboard’
Jennifer Lopez will star in Overboard, a remake of the 1987 film starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel. The film will be produced by Will Smith’s production company, and the writer of the original film is said to be working on the remake. No word yet on whether the remake will have a twist on the original story, which centers around a rich stuck up woman that gets amnesia and is taken in by a man that convinces her that she is his wife and the mother of his children. Got that? Seeing as how I still see this movie everyday on cable, I am not too excited about the remake.
ABC News Pays an Accused Murderer $200,000
I think it’s fair to say that ABC News is morally questionable. The network paid Casey Anthony, the mother accused of killing her 2 year old daughter, $200,000. ABC insists that they paid her for exclusive photos and videos, but not for an interview. ABC is drawing this distinction because paying for interviews is frowned upon in journalism. Really ABC?! How about paying an accused murderer? Is that frowned upon!?
