Publicly calling someone a wife-beater is a weighty accusation, and you better be prepared for the foreseeable fallout. In Hope Solo’s new cheesily-titled memoir, ‘Going Solo: A Memoir of Hope,’ she accused her Dancing With the Stars partner, Maksim Chermovskiy of getting physical during rehearsals, saying, “He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly. I thought that was just how it went – how dancers worked with each other,” she said. “But it kept getting worse. One day, Maks was trying to put me in a certain position and hit my stomach so hard with his open palm that I had a red hand-print there for the rest of the day.” In response, Maksim told TMZ that’s he’s shocked by the accusations, given that he’s had a post-show friendship with Solo. He later tweeted, “Always hated hypocrites and liars…but when someone is both AND an opportunist, I just feel bad for them. Can’t win at someone’s expense.” I’m not sure who to believe here, but I’ve previously made note of Maksim’s relatively aggressive teaching style (see the video below). But given that Hope Solo recently tweeted Maksim asking him if he’d like tickets to the Olympics, I find her hypocrisy disturbing. Pick a side and stick with it. If you’re still willing to stay in contact and call someone a friend, then be careful about sinking his career with “he-hit-me” accusations.

After watching the clip below from Real Housewives of New Jersey, a few things went through my mind. Here they are in sequence:
1. If Theresa Guidice’s husband is cheating, shouldn’t he remove his microphone before calling his mistress?
2. If Theresa Guidice’s husband isn’t cheating, shouldn’t he remove his microphone before calling his wife a “cunt.”
3. If the clip is produced and therefore fake, who would sign up for that? No amount of money is worth the entire world thinking you’re a fool.
4. If the clip below isn’t produced and is therefore real, why wouldn’t she quit this show? This is too personal, and her children are involved.
5. Everyone will sell their soul for money.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Announces All-Star Lineup — I’m Disappointed
‘Dancing With the Stars’ announced some of its all-star lineup, and many of the biggest-hitters in the history of the show are noticeably absent. Where is Mario Lopez, Joey Fatone, Nicole Scherzinger, and Sabrina Bryan? I realize that a lot of these people have become too famous to return, but it’s still disappointing. Here’s the current lineup: Helio Castroneves; Shawn Johnson; Bristol Palin; Pamela Anderson; Emmitt Smith; Joey Fatone; Drew Lachey; Gilles Marini; Kelly Monaco; and Apolo Anton Ohno. To be fair, Sabrina Bryan is in the running for the public’s wild-card vote, which also includes: Carson Kressley; Kyle Massey; and Hines Ward. And couldn’t they find a way to make Brooke Burke host and compete at the same time!? How dare she?! At least we’ll get the return of awkward run-ins between Pamela Anderson and ex-boyfriend David Charvet (also Brooke Burke’s husband).

Lisa Ling v. Oprah — Kardashian Kriticism
Though I appreciate her candor, if I were Lisa Ling I’d likely keep my mouth shut about the woman keeping me employed. While promoting her OWN television show, ‘Our America,’ she made it clear that she disapproved of Oprah’s Kardashian interview, saying although she understood why she did it, she doesn’t understand why the Kardashians are the most revered family in the country. Allow me to take a moment to point something out to Lisa Ling. The Kardashians are not the most revered or respected family in the country. They are on a mindless television show, which provides a relaxing release at the end of the work day. And just because I watch that television show, doesn’t mean that I can’t also watch the news. I am fully capable of doing more than one thing in the day. Should I also stop eating popcorn because it’s not oatmeal?

Jenny McCarthy Covers Playboy — Looks Stunning!
Since Jenny McCarthy is so aware of her strengths, perhaps she can petition MTV to bring back “Singled Out.” Aside from ‘Temptation Island,’ that was the best dating show on television. This is her sixth cover of Playboy, and she looks incredible. In fact, this might be my favorite cover, since she actually looks as if she’s a healthy weight. I hear she brings back the eighties in her photo-shoot. Let’s hope it sets a trend, because it would certainly reduce my monthly grooming bill by a significant amount.
