Ann Curry Says Goodbye to ‘The Today Show’ — Stays Classy

I really like Ann Curry. I think she’s classy and sweet, but she just didn’t have a co-host personality. She’s a little too serious, and she’s better suited to cover hard news. But that’s not a bad thing. ‘The Today Show’ co-hosts are cheesy and relatively douchey, which Ann Curry isn’t. If it’s true that Matt Lauer pushed her out, she certainly held it together during her farewell speech. If it were me, I might have socked him. This really is a positive move for Curry. Her “success” is in no way related to being a co-host on ‘The Today Show.’ And as an aside, she is very pretty. I’d like to buy that red dress she’s wearing. Watch below.

Howard Stern Kisses Matt Lauer — Calls Him a Robot

If you’ve ever had trouble understanding my love for Howard Stern, then all you need to do is watch below to see his interview with Matt Lauer on The Today Show. Since they’re friends outside of the show, Stern refused the formalities, calling Lauer a “robot” during his canned introduction and later confessing that they drink wine together at Stern’s house while discussing The Today Show. Lauer was hilariously uncomfortable, so Stern took it to the next level by jumping on his lap and kissing him. Enjoy!

Rosie O’Donnell Thinks Lindsay Lohan is Unhirable

Rosie O’Donnell, Star Jones, and Donny Deutsch joined Matt Lauer on The Today Show for what can only be described as the best segment in Today Show history. Though the story gained traction for O’Donnell’s assertion that Lindsay Lohan isn’t ready to work, the entire segment is worth watching. The quick, topic-to-topic format, is blissful for ADD viewers such as myself. I particularly enjoyed O’Donnell’s revelation that Lohan couldn’t be bothered to show up for her Saturday Night Live rehearsals. Clearly she has some inside information. Watch below.

I realize Christie Brinkley went on The Today Show to address her marriage woes, but I couldn’t help but get distracted by her looks. How old is this woman, and where’s her fountain of youth? She’s just so damn beautiful. Seriously, though — Can someone fire Matt Lauer? This poor woman’s husband cheated on her with a teenager, and Lauer still manages to judge her? He’s such a prick. Yes, Matt — there are “two sides to every story,” but when one side involves having sex with a child during your marriage, that’s pretty hard to refute. Furthermore, it’s your job to ask the questions, and it’s our job to decide how we feel about her answers — not yours!

Jon Hamm on The Today Show — Still Thinks Kim Kardashian is Dumb

When Matt Lauer addressed the Jon Hamm/Kim Kardashian feud while interviewing the cast of Mad Men to promote the new season, Hamm held firm. He said his comments weren’t “careless” (as Kim Kardashian put it), but rather — “accurate.” “It’s a part of our culture I don’t identify with,” he said. Though I appreciate Hamm’s refusal to back down, it’s worth pointing out that all scripted actors hate all reality stars. Reality television takes away their jobs, and contrary to Matt Lauer’s point, there simply isn’t room for both. Sure both might currently co-exist, but as time passes, scripted shows are dwindling. Reality television is just cheaper to make, and so it makes sense for networks and studios to push for them at the expense of real actors on scripted shows. Greed always trumps creativity.

If you had any doubts about whether Matt Lauer is a real journalist, then watch the interview below where he addresses the plaguing question on America’s mind: Did Zac Efron drop a condom on the red carpet of The Lorax premiere? Efron copped to the flub, saying, “I never had a pocket-checking policy prior to the red carpet, but now we’ve fully instated one.” And just when you thought it couldn’t get better, Lauer pointed out that Efron sent a great message to youngsters about safe sex. Lindsay Lohan on ‘The Today Show’: Tells Matt Lauer She’s Sober — Telling the Truth?

I know Lindsay Lohan is desperate to revive her career. But she only gets so many shots at telling the public she’s “back on track,” and she therefore needs to be careful about irreparably destroying her credibility. The public is willing to forgive (see Robert Downey Jr.) if they believe you’ve recovered. And though I’d love to believe she’s clean and sober, she’s too close to her recovery to make such absolute claims as, “I will not let anyone down.” I realize she has to convince insurance companies to insure her in television in films, but it’s just too soon. And finally, she has to die her hair red to be taken seriously. I know it sounds superficial to proclaim that hair color has anything to do with public perception, but every time she’s gone blond she’s gotten into trouble. Watch below.
