Gimmicks can go terribly wrong, but in the case of The Masked Singer and its mysterious head games (pun intended), FOX got it right. The fun format features celebrity performers in an elaborate costume, and it’s up to the judges (Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke and Ken Jeung) to guess their identity. Billed as “TV’s wildest singing show,” it’s a fun twist on a tired, competitive format that has over-saturated the market. And the best part? The guesses are all over Twitter, including a hilarious tweet from T-Pain who many think is last night’s “monster.” See below, along with videos from the show.
What in God’s name is everybody tweeting me about?!?!
Kelly Osbourne is nothing if not consistent. After astutely calling Lady Gaga a copy cat for her “Girl With a Dragon Tattoo” look, she’s now done the same with Miley Cyrus, labeling her unoriginal for ironically wearing a similar look to Lady Gaga’s egg costume during the Video Music Awards. She also critiqued her performance, with a specific request for the provocative pop tart to “put her tongue in her mouth.” Watch below.
There’s a warm part of my soul that is 100% certain President Bill Clinton has laid eyes on the video below, and that makes me happy. Watch him sing Blurred Lines, and imagine that laughter he’s had while viewing it. There’s no way he’s missed this.
I’m not sure how to measure success, but 53 million views on YouTube sounds like a start. As for the controversy surrounding “Blurred Lines” being degrading to women, I just don’t care too much. Plus, it’s a catchy tune, and that counts for a lot in my land. Watch Thicke, T.I., and Pharrell degrade women in style.
