Jon Hamm on The Today Show — Still Thinks Kim Kardashian is Dumb

When Matt Lauer addressed the Jon Hamm/Kim Kardashian feud while interviewing the cast of Mad Men to promote the new season, Hamm held firm. He said his comments weren’t “careless” (as Kim Kardashian put it), but rather — “accurate.” “It’s a part of our culture I don’t identify with,” he said. Though I appreciate Hamm’s refusal to back down, it’s worth pointing out that all scripted actors hate all reality stars. Reality television takes away their jobs, and contrary to Matt Lauer’s point, there simply isn’t room for both. Sure both might currently co-exist, but as time passes, scripted shows are dwindling. Reality television is just cheaper to make, and so it makes sense for networks and studios to push for them at the expense of real actors on scripted shows. Greed always trumps creativity.

Quote of the Day: Charlize Theron Discusses Michael Fassbender’s Penis Size

“Your penis was a revelation. I have to say that I was truly impressed that you chose to play it big. Most other actors would have gone small, trust me. I know because I’ve worked with them.”

Charlize Theron jokes to the Human Rights Campaign gala about her Prometheus co-star’s penis size, which she got a long, hard (pun intended) look at in his full-frontal scene in Shame.

Tina Fey Hates Adrien Brody — “Worst SNL Host Ever”

There’s nothing I love more than celebrities outing other celebrities who engaged in bad behavior, and Tina Fey is fearless about it. When asked by Andy Cohen during Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live for the “worst SNL host ever” she insisted she could not divulge it, and then mouthed “Adrien Brody” to the audience. I’ve heard Fey mention her dissatisfaction with Brody in the past, saying that he pushed his own sketch ideas to the dismay of the writers who knew they were terrible. As for Brody, all he said about the matter is he “had a great time” while hosting. Watch below.

Modern Family at The Paley Center — Hilarity Ensues

Modern family is by far my favorite scripted show on television. It’s funny, it’s witty, and to quote an audience member at The Paley Center, the writers “write up” to their audience and not “down to” them. When the cast members discussed their show at the 2012 PaleyFest, you could immediately understand its success. These actors have the same chemistry in real life that they do on television. It’s a huge gift that they are even willing to attend such an event and let the audience in on the show’s process. Watch below.

Isabel Toledo on The View — Spectacular Fashion

Isabel Toledo appeared on The View to promote her new collection, and she hit it out of the park. She shot to super-stardom when she dressed Michelle Obama for President Obama’s inauguration and she certainly has the design-chops for a long-sustaining career. She doesn’t really need my promotion, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Watch below.

Ashley Judd’s ‘Missing’ — Thrilling ABC Pilot

I read some of the reviews for ABC’s new Ashley Judd thriller, ‘Missing’, and all the Hollywood-big-hitters seem to hate it. Perhaps I’m missing something (pun intended), but I loved it. Ashley Judd is a force on screen, and she proves movie stars will always make for the best television stars. In fact, I thought the supporting players paled in comparison. I’ll refrain from a tedious plot summary, except to say that Judd plays an ex CIA agent who’s trying to locate her son after he’s been kidnapped. It’s unclear from the pilot why he’s been kidnapped, or what Judd’s work at the CIA actually involved, but I’m sure those details will unfold in the subsequent episodes. The one-note plot might be unsustainable for multiple seasons, but the pilot certainly caught my attention. Screw the Hollywood-big-hitters! The Dishmaster approves!

Katya Zharkova Proves Modeling Industry Must Change

I love curvy women. In fact, all of my celebrity girl-crushes have curves (see Selma Hayek & Jennifer Lopez). And though I walk out of the room backwards when there’s a man in my bed, the Plus Model Magazine images below have certainly helped with my process. Look below to see America’s Next Top Model contestant, Katya Zharkova, posing naked in heels, and click here to read some startling statistics about the modeling industry.

Vintage Quote of the Day — Alanis Morissette Explains “My Humps” Video

“I was in the studio with (producer) Guy Sigsworth and he would say, ‘What horse from the apocalypse are you bringing in today, Alanis?’ Because every song was this tsunami of emotions. So I said, ‘I wish I could just write a really simple song – a song like My Humps.’ Then we had a pregnant pause, looked at each other, and said, ‘All right, let’s do it!’ Within moments we were recording the piano version of it, and within a week we were shooting the video in my garage here at my house.” Alanis Morissette, on the inspiration behind her “My Humps” cover (no pun intended). Watch below.
