‘The City’ Spoiler – Olivia is "Dead"

Yes I am aware that I am loading my website up with spoilers, much to the dismay of some of my readers who hate them.  The good news?  I love them, and here at justTHEdish I get to do what I love.  Tonight’s episode of ‘The City’ looks especially juicy, with Kelly Cutrone’s proclamation that Olivia Palermo is “dead.”  It looks like Olivia is pissed that Erin circumvented her attempt to shun Whitney from Elle, so she refuses to interview her for Elle online.  That leads Erin to confess to Whitney that Olivia never liked her line.  This show sure is juicy!

Christina Aguilera Performs on Oprah – Watch the Video

Christina Aguilera performed her new single on Oprah, ‘Not Myself Tonight,’ and the irony is that it’s the same old Christina Aguilera.  Is it me or does she sing every song exactly the same way?  We know you have a good voice, you don’t have to show it off every other note.  She takes every song and trills to the point of destroying any semblance of the original melody.  We know that when you started in the business you were being compared to all those lip-syncing pop stars and felt you had something to prove to set yourself apart.  Stop and take a look around – those days are gone.  Just sing it straight for goodness sakes!

Julianne Hough is Returning to ‘Dancing With the Stars’

I think Julianne Hough finally got the memo.  When you want to break into country music, performing (even as a dancer) on the biggest show on television might help you out a little.  Julianne quit the show because she wanted to be taken more seriously as a country music singer, and now she’s coming back.  The last time we saw her on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ she was dancing with her then boyfriend Chuck Wicks.  They have since broken up.  I’m guessing that DWTS will pair her up with the fattest, oldest celebrity just to punish her a little.

Barbara Walters is Having Heart Surgery – Watch her Announcement

Barbara Walters announced she is having heart surgery on ‘The View.’  I’m posting the clip because I am a huge Babs fan, so I’ll be devastated to see her absent from the panel.  The only entertaining part of the clip below, is the annoying inquisition from her fellow panelists about everything under the sun.  Didn’t they brief the ladies on not asking The Queen a bazillion questions?

Casey Affleck is Shopping Around a Joaquin Phoenix Documentary – It’s Apparently Disturbing

Remember that Joaquin Phoenix appearance on David Letterman?  After the interview, many people speculated that it was all a hoax for Casey Affleck’s documentary about Phoenix.  Unfortunately, it might not have been fake after all.  Affleck’s documentary is complete, and he is now shopping it around.  Reports are circulating about some of the content in the film, and it’s pretty horrendous.  Of the many disturbing details, here are the highlights: someone defecates on Phoenix’s face; he snorts a line of cocaine and orders call girls; and he participates in oral sex with a publicist of “unknown gender.”  Wow – they sure weren’t kidding when they said Hollywood would strip you of your soul.  Is this supposed to have some sort of artistic merit?  Maybe I am an uptight prick, but I can’t see what the value is in watching someone self-destruct on screen.  Especially, when Phoenix’s brother died of a drug overdose at such a young age.  You would think this stuff would be taken a tad more seriously.  Watch the Letterman interview I’m referring to below.

Betty White Scores Huge Ratings for Saturday Night Live

Betty White continues to show up the youngters.  Her Saturday Night Live hosting gig scored the biggest numbers since the 2008 pre-election days. Her career certainly has spanned generations.  She went from a vixen on Mary Tyler Moore, to the doe-eyed sweetheart on the Golden Girls, and finally, to becoming a facebook sensation!  You go girl! Watch her open the show below.

‘Desperate Housewives’ Spoiler Alert – A Villain is Returning to Wisteria Lane

Marc Cherry confirmed that the show’s new villain “may not be a woman.”  Remember Mary Alice’s husband?  Well, he’s back.  Mark Moses is returning to Wisteria Lane.  The last we saw him, he was in prison for killing Martha Huber.  Is he out on parole?  We’ll have to wait and see.  I suppose that his story line will start when Drea De Mateo’s dragged on terrorist arc ends.

Kristin Chenoweth Calls Out Newsweek – Shame on You Ramin Setoodeh

Kristin Chenoweth is a feisty little thing!  She took to the Newsweek comments section to call out Ramin Setoodeh’s review of ‘Promises, Promises,’ starring Sean Hayes.  Setoodeh accused the openly gay actor of being “wooden and insincere, like he’s trying to hide something, which of course he is.”  Yikes.  Chenoweth, who has a large gay following and is pretty much an icon on all levels of entertainment, wrote that “no one needs to see a bigoted, factually inaccurate article that tells people who deviate from heterosexual norms that they can’t be open about who they are and still achieve their dreams.”  Oh yeah – she also outed him!!  She said, “I am told on good authority that Mr. Setoodeh is a gay man himself and I would hope, as the author of this article, he would at least understand that. I encourage Newsweek to embrace stories which promote acceptance, love, unity and singing and dancing for all!”  Did I mention that Chenoweth is my hero?  Below you’ll see a picture of Kristin Chenoweth kissing Sean Hayes (he doesn’t look insincere to me).

‘American Idol’ Finale Will Run Long – Set Your DVRs Now

‘American Idol’ has finally admitted that it cannot run its own show.  They recently confessed that the finale will run 7 minutes long which, as Movieline points out, “is more like 27 minutes.”  Is it not possible to effectively produce this show?  Wait – I take that back.  Clearly it isn’t, given that last week’s shows had the lowest ratings since 2002.

Giorgio Armani Will Design for Alicia Keys Upcoming Tour

Giorgio Armani is 75 years old and still as relevant as ever. First he designed for Lady Gaga’s tour, and now he will be designing the outfits for the European leg of Alicia Keys’ tour. Of her relationship with Armani, Keys said “my friendship with [him] happened early on. He started sending me clothes and then we began working more closely for big events. The first major dress we designed together was for the Grammys in 2006. It was a fully beaded black Privee dress that weighed about a ton, but once it was on, it felt just gorgeous.”  Who says you lose your mojo later in life? (The dress she is referring to is in the picture on the right).
