George Clooney Calls out Russell Crowe & Leonardo DiCaprio — GET THE DEETS
Hollywood insiders are well aware that George Clooney is Tinseltown’s most-loved gentleman. So when the polite powerhouse points out the failings of other A-listers, it’s music to my ears. Two such A-listers are Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio, who Clooney exposed in his recent interview with
Esquire. Of Crowe, Clooney recounted a feud which began when Crowe called Clooney a sellout for his international coffee commercials, which warranted Clooney’s subsequent poke about how he should probably “join a band” instead (Russell Crowe is in a band). Crowe then shot back again, calling Clooney a Frank Sinatra impersonator, which prompted a personal note from Clooney, which entailed the line, “What the f*ck is wrong with you?!” As for the DiCaprio story, you’ll just have to click HERE to find out.

Tom Cruise Sues Life & Style and In Touch Magazine — A Brief Summary of the Case
If I had an inordinate amount of money and a tabloid tried to arbitrarily assert that I abandoned my child, you better believe I’d spend that disposable cash on taking them down. Such is the case with Tom Cruise, who sued Life & Style and In Touch Magazine for defamation regarding their horrific headlines that he abandoned his daughter after his divorce from Katie Holmes.
Defamation is complicated. And without reiterating my first year of law school, I’ll lay it out in a nutshell for my interested readers. Here goes: You cannot say something false if it lowers the reputation of the subject. And if your subject is famous, the test is even more strict, and you must prove that the defamer engaged in “actual malice.” So what is actual malice? In short, the person who published the false statement must have knowledge that his statement is false or act in reckless disregard of its truth or falsity. For example, if I publish an article saying an A-list celebrity beat his children and I had a great source for that information, it is not defamation. I reasonably believed my source, and that belief was not reckless.
Because Tom Cruise is quite clearly a public figure, he has an uphill battle. He has to prove that the tabloids in question knew he did not abandon his daughter when they published their headline. And if he can’t prove that they knew, he has to prove that they acted in reckless disregard of the statement’s truth or falsity. That’s a difficult standard, and given that his current deposition suggests he only saw his daughter for 10 out of 110 days, it’s entirely possible that he’ll lose. Why? It might be a reasonable assumption that his absence equates to “abandonment.” As I said, “actual malice” is a near impossible standard to prove.
Despite Tom Cruise’s difficult burden of proof, I’m elated that he’s engaging in this. Tabloids are bottom-feeding maggots, and they can certainly survive with more positive stories, yet they choose the opposite. And if that’s not enough of an objection, they publish paparazzi pictures of children, which is unconscionable.
Good luck, Tom. I’m rooting for you.
Avril Lavigne Debuts Engagement Ring to Katie Couric — WATCH NOW
The larger the diamond, the larger the love? Somewhere along the way, Hollywood’s bigger-is-better philosophy transferred to engagement rings (see Kim Kardashian), and the bauble battle got out of control. Call me crazy, but I’d rather not walk around with a thief target on my finger. But hey, if Avril Lavigne doesn’t feel comfortable, she can always lock her entire body in a vault so she can safely wear that thing. Watch Avril debut her engagement ring to Katie Couric below.
Eminem Releases ‘Marshall Mathers LP 2’ — A FULL REVIEW
“The best part about me is I am not you, I’m me. I’m the fire marshal, and this is my legacy.”
When I started to review Eminem’s record I immediately poo-pooed my own objectivity, given my die-hard devotion to the rapper. Then it suddenly hit me — I used to hate the guy. In fact, I remember putting on my princess crown and preaching that his raps were disrespectful, disturbing, and down-right offensive. Then I grew up, listened to every album in full, and converted to his kingdom.
For years, I and many others have pondered what Eminem would produce when he became less angry. He’s been honest about his new-found sobriety and his subsequent attitude change, and it’s a common suspicion that happiness often kills creativity. But after listening to his most moving song, ‘Headlights,’ where he makes peace with his mother, it became instantly clear that nothing kills Eminem’s creativity — and he’s fully capable of presenting every emotion in every song. Though the anger that made him famous is still prevalent on ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2,’ so is his healthy new state of mind, and that variety has created perhaps his most powerful album yet. Listen to ‘Headlights,’ below.
Sarah Jessica Parker Debuts city.ballet — A Full Review
WRITTEN BY OLIVIA GINTEL, GUEST CONTRIBUTOR

AOL On Originals, launched its newest documentary series, city.ballet, which takes viewers behind-the-scenes of the New York City Ballet’s premium dancers. Having danced ballet for the majority of my life, it became immediately clear to me that the series delivers on its promise to portray the many sacrifices made by professional dancers.
Conceived by executive producer and NYCB board member Sarah Jessica Parker, and produced by Pretty Matches Productions and Zero Point Zero Production, the series takes you through each step of a dancer’s journey, from the moment of graduating ballet school to the most-coveted position as a principal dancer in a major ballet company. With each step comes a different role with a different set of challenges, including apprentice, corps member, soloist, and finally, principal dancer. While I gave up my pursuit of professional dancing, it’s still very close to my heart, and this series was a wonderful reminder of all the details associated with my journey. RHOA’s Kenya Moore Hates the RSVP — All Hail the Housewife!
For years I’ve been adamant that the RSVP needs to die, insisting that a lack of response should default as a decline, but archaic askers have pushed for the tradition to continue. I’ve considered sending a multitude of inconvenient invites to my closest friends, forcing them to go to the mailbox multiple times as a representation of this ludicrous tradition, but I’ve simply decided to write about it instead. But fear not! The Real Housewives are finally good for something! Watch Kenya Moore discuss the RSVP issue for NeNe’s wedding, and take notes.
