Harry Connick Jr. Joins American Idol — Fox Gets it Right

For the first time in years, American Idol got it right. Harry Connick Jr. will officially round out Fox’s new panel, as the third judge. The news shocked me, mostly because Connick has consistently rejected any judging offers, which means American Idol and the high-class crooner had an excessive courtship. Connick has had a number of well-received guest stints, but this is his first appearance as a permanent panel member. He’ll be joining Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban for a powerhouse threesome. Watch one of Connick’s guest-stints below.

Molly Ringwald Stops By Oprah’s ‘Where Are They Now’

As a major Molly Ringwald fan, you can imagine my elation to discover that she’s stopping by Oprah’s ‘Where Are They Now’ for an update. Watch the promo below.

Kelly Osbourne’s Memo to Miley Cyrus: “Put Your Tongue Away”

Kelly Osbourne is nothing if not consistent. After astutely calling Lady Gaga a copy cat for her “Girl With a Dragon Tattoo” look, she’s now done the same with Miley Cyrus, labeling her unoriginal for ironically wearing a similar look to Lady Gaga’s egg costume during the Video Music Awards. She also critiqued her performance, with a specific request for the provocative pop tart to “put her tongue in her mouth.” Watch below.

Amy Phillips Impersonates Heather Dubrow — HILARIOUS

For those that can’t quite put their finger on why Heather Dubrow is irritating, it will become immediate clear when you watch Amy Phillips’ brilliant impersonation. Check it out below.

Will Smith’s Family — Miley Cyrus VMA Reaction is a Hoax

It was fun while it lasted. As it turns out, Will Smith’s family didn’t ogle at Miley Cyrus. In fact, the infamous reaction was actually for Lady Gaga, and it wasn’t a negative reaction at all. Jaden Smith’s furrowed eyebrows were really just concentration, and Willow Smith was chewing gum. I suppose there’s a real lesson here. Just about anyone can be portrayed as just about anything when the context is removed. Watch the video below.

Justin Timberlake on Miley Cyrus: “I Approve”

Despite the controversy, Miley Cyrus has a new fan in her corner. Timberlake voiced his approval, saying “It’s the VMAs. It’s not like she did it at the Grammys.” He also referenced Madonna and Britney’s previous performances and said he thought “all the bears were really cool.” Listen below.

Robin Thicke’s Mother Didn’t Like Miley Cyrus? Watch Her Performance Now.

“I didn’t get what her point was. It was so over the top as to almost be a parody of itself.” Robin Thicke’s mother (and Days of our Lives star), Gloria Loring, on Cyrus’ performance at the Video Music Awards. I think that says it all, don’t you? Watch below to see Miley Cyrus’ much talked about performance. As an aside, can someone teach Miley Cyrus some additional choreography? That’s a lot of time on stage to simply throw your hands forward and wag your tongue.

Eminem Previews ‘Berzerk’ — Watch Now

Thirty seconds might be frustrating, but it’s better than nothing. Watch a clip from Eminem’s new single off his upcoming album. He’s releasing the album November 5, 2013. Enjoy!

Taylor Swift Disses Harry Styles at the VMAs — Thanks Him for Her Moon Man

If Taylor Swift isn’t careful, she’s going to end up a Bitter Betty in a very shallow dating pool. While accepting her 2013 VMA for ‘I Knew You Were Trouble,” Swift said, “I also wanna thank the person who inspired this song who knows exactly who he is because, now I got one of these.” Hasn’t it been months since she split with Harry Styles, and didn’t they date for all of two minutes? When Harry Styles is asked about Swift, he’s unconditionally complimentary, despite her smear campaign. Why must her jabs be so literal? Perhaps she should take notes from Carly Simon, whose “You’re so vain” subject is still in contention. And given that she also mouthed, “Shut the fu*k up,” during their acceptance speech, I’d implore her to up her class factor quickly.
