New Music Discovery: Alma Luma & So Do Samba

I don’t know much about Alma Luma & So Do Samba, except that they are a French & Brazilian band, and they are completely off the Google grid. There’s no website, no facebook page, and very little biographical information anywhere. Also — I’ve completely forgotten how I discovered them. All I know for sure is — they are damn good. If any of my readers are talented researchers, please supply me with more information. Until then, listen below.

LeAnn Rimes Cries . . . Again

I feel sorry for LeAnn Rimes. She’s clearly unstable, and she’s completely unwilling to disappear until she gets better. Instead, she’s going on an interview tour to clear her image, and she’s tarnishing it in the process. And furthermore, she should refrain from prosaic words of wisdom which include maxims like, “You can’t break something that’s not already broken.”

Demi Lovato’s Last Act Leaves — Claws Come Out

The source of Demi Lovato’s bitchiness finally dawned on me, and I’m embarrassed to admit I didn’t see it earlier. She lost her last act! That sure explains her misplaced hatred for Cowell’s next sensation, Emblem 3. Her barbs included, comparing the group to One Direction and The Jonas Brothers (as if that’s bad) and later accusing them of constantly “standing together” instead of “commanding the stage.” Bye, bye Demi. Maybe next time you should listen to Simon when he mentors you, instead of mentoring your own contestants.

Katy Perry’s Extended Video for “The One That Got Away” Leaks — WATCH

I like Katy Perry’s songs especially the one about the guy who got away, mostly because it reminds me of my own “one that got away.” To be fair, he didn’t exactly “get away,” as much as I threw him out my car window (metaphorically, of course), but you say tomato, I say tomato (that works better out loud). Watch the extended 7 minute video that allegedly “leaked.”

Dave Grohl Addresses Justin Bieber Grammy “Snub” — WATCH

20121207-101552.jpgThe Gods above gifted me with a clip of Dave Grohl discussing Justin Bieber’s Grammy “snub” during a Chelsea Lately pow-wow. Watch the rock legend engage in the gab-fest below, asking very astute questions, such as, “Is anyone really surprised?”

Sawmill Joe Releases “Ain’t Nobody’s Problem” — Thanks, Joe!

A few months ago I had the pleasure to see The Lumineers in concert, and they covered a song called, “Ain’t Nobody’s Problem” by Sawmill Joe. I immediately reached out to Joe asking for more information, and quickly discovered he’s hilarious. He got his name because he works at a Sawmill where he “chopped [his] damn finger off on a log splitter.” When I asked for permission to disclose that aforementioned personal detail, Joe responded with, “Yeah, it’s cool cred! My bass player chopped his finger off at the same sawmill.” Here’s hoping I meet this guy one day. He sure has a sense of humor. And the boy can sing. Listen to him perform “Ain’t Nobody’s Problem” below.

Lady Antebellum Perform ‘Blue Christmas’ — Watch Now

Lady Antebellum’s moving performance of ‘Blue Christmas’ almost made me trade my menorah for a Christmas tree. Good thing I have eight presents coming my way to quickly downgrade that desire.

The Lumineers Get Grammy Nomination — Read My Interview With the Band

Well, folks — it’s that time of year again. The time of year when The Dishmaster goes on a self-aggrandizing, I-Told-You-So post-parade. Jack Reacher — New Tom-Cruise-Kicks-Ass Clip

If you know The Dishmaster, then you know I’m a crazy Tom Cruise fan.
And despite the media crud, I’m still hoping that he’ll make me his Scientology sex slave. A girl can dream, can’t she? Watch the clip for ‘Jack Reacher’ below, which clearly proves that one of these days, we’ll meet on the street and he’ll protect me from villains, followed by a steamy sex session. Again, a girl can dream . . .
