Jennifer Lopez on ‘The Today Show’ — Discusses Marc Anthony

Only Jennifer Lopez could successfully navigate an awkward Matt Lauer interview. She’s brilliant. Any other celebrity would have squirmed in anger at his invasive question-asking-style. Watch below.

Bachelor Ben Flajnik Scolds Samantha — He’s a Jerk!

Ever since Ben Flajnik was eliminated on Ashley Hebert’s season of The Bachelorette, I’ve been saying he has anger issues. And he proved my point on last week’s show when he eliminated Samantha. She asked him why she has yet to receive an alone date and he scolded her for the inquiry. He called her highly emotional and impatient and then curtly told her to leave. Sure she seemed slightly nuts, but he’s an arrogant douche who should thank his lucky stars that a woman would even feign interest in him. Don’t pick on someone weaker than you, Ben. It’s just poor form.

H&M Copies Independant Artist? — Thieves?

Don’t think you can rip people off in the blogging generation and get away with it. When a graffiti artist named Tori LaConsay discovered that her graffiti design on an unused billboard had been reproduced by H&M, she immediately contacted the company, only to get a standard reply, saying, “We employ an independent team of over 100 designers. We can assure you that this design has not been influenced by your work and that no copyright has been infringed.” When the public got wind and subsequently pounced on H&M’s facebook page with angry comments, they decided to issue a lengthier apology:

We apologies [sic] if anyone should think we have copied, which has never been our intention and also not allowed. We have merely been inspired, after seeing many different varieties with different text messages, to create something similar in a different font, with the use of big and small brackets and the placement of the shaped heart. We are truly sorry if we have led someone to believe that we intentionally should have copied someone else’s creation.

Since the above quote is what I like to call a “non-apology-apology” it’s no surprise that it only fanned the flames. The debacle forced H&M to take it seriously, and they are now doing some serious damage control. Most intellectual property cases in fashion get dismissed because there’s often no way to prove that an item was copied. Perhaps both designers think alike? But this case is different. H&M copied words, handwriting, and even that adorable little heart. Hopefully this will set a precedent for large corporations taking advantage of the little guy. They should have just apologized and paid her for the design.

Karl Lagerfeld Interviews Himself — Narcissist?

There’s narcissism — and then there’s narcissism.  Though Karl Legerfeld is an unequivocal fashion genius, only an ego-maniac would interview himself. I realize that this is simply an idea gone wrong, rather than a representation of his character, but  let this be a lesson to everyone. Only Alec Baldwin could pull off the idea below. Watch and enjoy.

Kim Kardashian Cries About Divorce on Finale — Admits Mistake

A small part of me (a very small part) actually feels bad for Kim Kardashian. I think she was somewhat manipulated into this marriage by the people around her, and she thought it was better to go through with it than to jump ship. The worst part is that she seemingly found comfort in choosing her career over her personal life. She’ll never meet a man that’s comfortable on a reality show, and any man that is comfortable will likely have tainted intentions. Money is great, but you can’t take it with you when you die. You can take love with you though. Watch her confess to her failed marriage below.

‘Fear Factor’ Contestants Drink Donkey Semen — NBC Condones Bestiality?

Though I don’t personally know the executives and producers behind NBC’s Fear Factor, I certainly know their type. They’re bloated, narcissistic, career-driven douches that have lived in the reality television world just long enough to lose all sense of reality. So in case you’re inquiring about the source of my rage, it’s about TMZ’s report that the contestants of Fear Factor will drink donkey semen during one of the stunts. And yes — you read that correctly. This is akin to bestiality, and it’s deplorable. For the next stunt, perhaps the producers should have the contestants actually blow the donkey? Why not, right? It is reality television after all, and if you’re going to drink the semen you might as well work for it.

Demi Moore’s 911 Call Airs — Will TMZ Rot in Hell?

Here at The Dishmaster I like to preach morality. So you can imagine my rage at TMZ’s airing of Demi Moore’s 911 call. These 911 calls need to remain private. It’s deplorable to think that a celebrity cannot ask for help in private. Sure she put her marriage on display thereby inviting the public’s reaction to her divorce. But this is different. Until there’s a law against public access to 911 calls, TMZ needs to maintain their last shred of human decency.
