Beck Wins Best Album: Kanye Reacts

Kanye West’s eruptions are now expected, and he struck again with a tamer version of his Taylor Swift take-down. He faux stormed the stage, and Beck politelyreacted with ease. Though many thought it was a self-deprecating stunt on Kanye’s part, he later confirmed his cantankerous intent, saying, “I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyoncé.”

I have a few words for Kanye West, so I’d like him to listen. First, even if Beyonce’s album was stronger, Beck writes his own music, and is therefore operating on an entirely different level. Commissioning the best of the best in the business to write, produce, and create your work puts you at an unfair advantage, and makes you less deserving. Second, art is subjective, and Kanye West is not its arbiter. Third, I don’t appreciate ruining someone’s moment, no matter who it is or what the circumstances. Watch below.

Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney: FourFiveSeconds Video

Many artists of Paul McCartney’s stature would rest on their catalog, but the most-loved music man has instead stayed current, engaging in frequent collaborations with today’s top talent and touring the world with high-energy, two-hour concerts. He’s now joined Rihanna and Kanye West for FourFiveSeconds, a catchy, artistic tune that we’ll see at tonight’s Grammy awards. Watch the video below.

Farrah Abraham Returns to ‘Teen Mom’ — WATCH NOW

While I fundamentally object to the featuring of children on reality television, I will perpetuate the problem with this post, because it’s just so darn good. Farrah Abraham returned to ‘Teen Mom,’ the series that made her famous. It’s no secret that Abraham has made some very controversial choices since leaving the show, and it’s also no secret that she frequently engages in odd crying fits. In the case of this clip, it’s clear her daughter is both smart and sweet. Watch as her tiny tot acknowledges her own mother’s unstable behavior.

Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Save by the Bell’ Reunion: WATCH NOW

With eight million views, endless news coverage, and a rabid fan base in need of nostalgia, it’s safe to say Jimmy Fallon scored big with his retro Saved by the Bell reunion. As for the absent attendees, it’s no secret that Lark Voorhies and Dustin Diamond have had some trouble over the years, but they were certainly missed. Mario Lopez might need to refresh his acting ability, but Mark Paul hit it out of the park . . . again. No comment on Mr. Belding. Enjoy below.

Brian Williams Lied: Helicopter Wasn’t Shot Down in Iraq

If it’s true that Brian Williams simply switched his memory in favor of a more compelling version of life-threatening events, then perhaps he should have a neurological examination. If it’s not true, then he’s a liar, which is severely damaging to his trusted-newsman reputation. As for the content of the lie itself, how dare someone in a position of authority disrespect our armed forces to embellish his own image?

For those that missed the story, Brian Williams claimed to have been traveling in a helicopter that was downed by RPG fire during the Iraq War. He told the story numerous times, including once on Letterman, which is below at the 3:30 mark. In fact, Williams was on a helicopter traveling one hour behind the actual helicopter subject to the attack. Williams apologized when Lance Reynolds, an Iraqi war veteran, exposed the lie, saying,

“Sorry dude, I don’t remember you being on my aircraft. I do remember you walking up about an hour after we had landed to ask me what had happened. Then I remember you guys taking back off in a different flight of Chinooks from another unit and heading to Kuwait to report your ‘war story’ to the Nightly News. The whole time we were still stuck in Iraq trying to repair the aircraft and pulling our own Security.”

I have always enjoyed Brian Williams and appreciated his ability to poke fun at himself. But I also have a very low tolerance for lies, especially when it involves our armed forces. Shame on you, Brian Williams.

Jimmy Kimmel Stole J.B. Smoove’s Double-Eye-Patch Joke: WATCH NOW

J.B. Smoove’s standout comedic style is currently unmatched, and he’s most notably proved his place in the industry with his frequent, hilarious Howard Stern appearances. During one such appearance Smoove recounted many of his rejected SNL sketches that resulted in Smoove being known as the “pitch king” by his peers. Stern and Smoove surmised that the sketches got axed because they can only be executed Smoove himself. When Smoove returned to Stern for today’s interview, he indicated many of those mentioned jokes were stolen, most notably his “pirate-with-a-double-eye-patch” sketch. Shockingly, it was Jimmy Kimmel that stole the joke. After intense research, I found the stolen sketch which, as predicted, is not as funny without Smoove. Watch below to see Kimmel’s ‘Movie the Movie 2V’ from 2013, in which Kimmel simulates a stupid film trailer in a post-Oscar parody.

Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart and Jimmy Fallon: Epic Lip-Sync Battle

In a lip-sync battle that easily entered the Emma Stone dimension, Will Farrell, Kevin Hart, and Jimmy Fallon fought it out for the title. Farrell easily earned the win, and his hilarious antics still shock me. Who would guess from looks alone that the guy would booty-dance to Beyonce? Watch below.

Laura Ingraham Attacks #LIKEAGIRL Commercial — LISTEN NOW

I pay no mind to Laura Ingraham’s offensive reaction to Always’ ‘Like a Girl’ commercial, and I speak for my gender when I say that my people fundamentally reject her membership. Her “tomboy” status is a veiled excuse for anti-establishment trolling, and perhaps she’ll identify more with the word “c#nt” than #Likeagirl. Watch the very moving commercial, followed by Ingraham’s trolling tirade.

Katy Perry’s #Superbowl Halftime Show — WATCH NOW

In a visual extravaganza worthy of a Lisa Frank caboodle, Katy Perry stepped onto the Super Bowl stage to lip-sync her catchy catalog of pop tunes beside lots of people doing lots of actual work. I realize the Super Bowl almost mandates lip-syncing, but if you’re not going to dance, then your presence could be replaced by nearly any other person that wants to Karaoke. Judging from my arm-chair survey, the dancing sharks were a hit, but other than that — I can’t see much success. Beyonce looked like she was going to pass out from all that choreography, and Katy simply swayed beside some beach balls. Lenny Kravitz should have just done the entire show. WATCH BELOW.
