Kris Jenner Explains North West — Kim Kardashian’s New Airline

To be fair, the title is a joke — but so is Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s poor baby’s new name. And those cruel new parents didn’t even give this little girl the option of a middle name to opt out of their preposterous pick. Watch Kris Jenner justify their choice on The View.

Derek Hough & Kellie Pickler Win Dancing With the Stars!

This was a fair fight, and in the end, the right person won. Derek Hough choreographed one of the most original, moving freestyles in history, in a paired-back contemporary piece that stood out among his over-the-top rivals. It was a strategic choice that paid off, and considering that Kellie Pickler doesn’t have dance training, this was ever-the-more impressive.

Barbara Walters Retires — THE.END.OF.AN.ERA

This news hit me hard. Barbara Walters is my favorite interviewer in history, and getting an extra dose of her on The View has made for a consistent daily treat. In fact, when she’s not there, I quickly change the channel. I should have predicted the announcement, even though I was holding out hope that she’d pull a Mike Wallace and work for infinity. Her interview-style is um-matched asking short, poignant questions sans judgment, and getting more information than anyone else while doing it. She’s the queen. But this time around, there will be no one else to take her throne. Watch some of her most memorable interviews below.

Pistol Annies on ‘The View’ — WATCH NOW

These kids today are so confusing. I saw Pistol Annies perform on The View and thought, “That girl on the right sure looks like Miranda Lambert.” I think you know how this lead-up ends — IT WAS HER. It’s time to start brushing up on my country music trivia. Watch their performance on The View and pick up their new record, ‘Annie Up.’

Derek Hough & Jaimie Goodwin Walk on Air — Mind-Bending Bonanza

Derek Hough consistently reaffirms why he’s the best professional dancer on Dancing With the Stars — or perhaps anywhere. His choreography continues to astound, and his performance to Kerli’s ‘Walking on Air’ was no exception. Watch the gravity-defying masterpiece below.

Quote of the Day: Whoopi Goldberg on Elisabeth Hasselbeck

20130417-110015.jpg“Let me tell you this about The View: I take a paycheck every other week. That’s all I do. I could give a sh-t what comes. I do my job — I have a contract. That’s where I stand. I don’t give a f-ck.” Whoopi Godlberg, on her concerns about who will replace Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Dancing With the Stars Week 4 Results Recap — Who Went Home?

When Dancing With the Stars debuted, I was certain it would be a hit. Why? Because unlike other reality competition shows of a different format, even bad dancing is fun to watch. After years of devoted fandom, I sat in the audience for last night’s results show, and the experience far exceeded my expectations. It was country night, and my southern roots (wait . . . does Florida count?) were met with extreme elation when I saw Brad Paisley and The Band Perry.

The most moving moment of the night came from Brilynn Rakes & Derek Hough, who executed a beautiful and elegant dance as part of AT&T’s spotlight performance (see below).

The evening ended with a farewell to Lisa Vanderpump, who was my personal favorite for her personality alone. And speaking of personality, I was fortunate enough to get a first-hand look at Vanderpump’s furry friend, Jiggy, who is a surprisingly well-behaved dog, making not a peep despite the ballroom’s raucous applause.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Leaving The View? — Say it Ain’t So!

20130308-155353.jpgIf this news is true, it might even-out my outrage about Joy Behar’s departure. According to Us Weekly, Hasselbeck’s is getting ousted due to viewer objection about her divisive Republican stance.

While I think there’s value in having a conservative on the panel, Hasselbeck has become even more partisan over the years, with an unwavering Republican stance on nearly every issue at hand. In fact, I’d often find her manipulating her stance just to present an unbiased perspective, while covertly sneaking in her Republican viewpoint. If you’re going to hire variety, it’s best to avoid “straight party” thinkers. Also, when market research says you’re unpopular, the network takes no prisoners. This is nothing but a ratings game, and popular opinion will unequivocally reign supreme.
