Britney Spears Premieres ‘Perfume’ — LISTEN NOW

The pop princess has done it again with her new single, ‘Perfume.’ When asked about the song’s meaning, Spears said, “Everyone’s been through an insecure moment in a relationship that’s left them vulnerable and I think this song captures that.” It’s clear that Spears has officially “marked her territory” with a more personal song. Britney Spears Radio Interview Goes Wrong — Blame Ryan and Roula

Here at The Dishmaster, I’ve done a lot of interviews with high-profile talent. Some of my subjects were better than others. But you’ll never know who, and each and every one of my interviews will either be written in a favorable light or it won’t be published. Why? Because I don’t invite people into my living room to shit on them. If you’re ship is sinking, I’ll help plug a hole in it, even if you’re the one who shot through the bottom. Britney Spears was not afforded that same courtesy in an interview with The Roula & Ryan Show in Houston. Her team restricted the questions, and apparently, Britney shut down during the interview when Ryan & Roula wanted to “change things up,” instead of “asking straight questions.” None too pleased with the result, the interview was pulled, and Ryan and Roula subsequently bad-mouthed the singer, taking zero responsibility for their part in it. They pointed out that she has “fifteen years in the business,” “is worth $100 million,” and should be able to handle herself.

I have some words of wisdom for Ryan & Roula, if they’re listening. First, if the interview went awry, you’re at fault. You have the responsibility to format your questions in a way that makes her comfortable, and if you can’t do that, you’re to blame. Britney Spears has notorious interview anxiety, and even though she’s a big star, she’s entitled to be uncomfortable with the press that goes along with her career. Media savvy and talent don’t always coincide. And lastly, call Howard Stern. Maybe he can give you advice about how to do your job properly.

Listen below for their heinous recap of their interview with Britney Spears.

Britney Spears Talks “Huge Breakup” With Ryan Seacrest

Either Britney Spears is in a better place, or her relationship with Ryan Seacrest caused her to be more relaxed. Either way, her on-air interview was shocking. She’s calm, alert, and revealing. Spears discussed her “huge breakup” earlier this year, along with the therapeutic nature of singing songs about her ex. She also gave a funny anecdote about her choreographers. Listen below. Here’s hoping the old Britney is on her way back.

Simon Cowell on Britney Spears: “She Couldn’t Talk”

Britney SpearsWhile I appreciate honestly, I’m not certain this was necessary. When asked by Ellen DeGeneres about Britney Spears, Cowell confessed to nixing her contract, saying, “I didn’t realize that. I kind of booked someone who couldn’t talk, which is a bit of a problem when you want someone to judge.” He went on to explain that Spears was generally uncomfortable with the entire process, disliking the overall negativity associated with the talent competition. I supposed there’s a lesson to be learned here. Perhaps producers should focus less on stunt casting and more on judging. And since The Voice, X Factor, and American Idol have yet to produce a huge star in years, it’s also possible the format is dying.

Adrienne Bailon Insults Britney Spears — Who is Adrienne Bailon?!

Back off Britney, Bitch! Adrienne Bailon boarded another fame train to propel her own, moving from Robert Kardashian to Britney Spears, claiming she worked at X Factor and Britney “can’t hold a conversation.” The panel then heartlessly claimed her mental meltdown can be attributed to “karma,” since Kevin Federline was in a relationship when they began dating. In related news, I find it astounding that a panel of talentless unknowns would take pleasure in shining a spotlight on someone’s mental illness, and then claim she deserved it. The only incoming karma is for their inexcusable attack on someone during the worst time of their life. Here’s hoping these bloated divas have no skeletons. Because if they do, they’ll be hearing from me again.

Nicole Scherzinger Impersonates Britney Spears — LISTEN

When I interviewed Macy Gray about her new record, one of my first questions was about Nicole Scherzinger’s Britney Spears impersonation. Apparently, Macy and Nicole are friends, and Macy wanted to work Nicole’s impression into a skit for her new album. When I asked Macy about it, she excitingly said, “[Nicole] should do that all day!” Listen below to Nicole’s impression.

Britney Spears is Single Again — The World Weeps

I sure did root for this one, but where there’s smoke . . . .

Here’s Britney’s official statement:

“Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.”

And here is Jason Trawick’s:

“As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever.”

Nothing says OVER like the words, “adore, friends, and cherish.”

It’s probably for the best. That whole, “I’m marrying my co-conservator thing” was a little odd.
