I’m happy Anderson Cooper publicly came out of the closet, but I’m sad that the declaration is still necessary. If straight people don’t have to announce their sexuality, then neither should gay people. I’m also sad that my Anderson Cooper sex fantasy will never be executed, but that’s not really relevant, is it?
‘Weeds’ Season 8 Premieres — Are Sociopaths Funny?
No one likes dark humor more than The Dishmaster, but last night’s premiere of ‘Weeds’ crossed the line. Season 8 began with Nancy Botwin being shot in the head, and the entire episode revolved around her family’s antics during her hospital stay. Those antics included her brother-in-law having sex in her hospital room, and both her sons showing zero sign of emotion over the possibility of their mother’s death. The show always rode the line between disturbing & intriguing, but when did it become a story about sociopathic criminals? I’ve had it.

Hilary Duff Fights Weight Criticism & Defends Yummy Body
If you know The Dishmaster, then you know I have a very select amount of girl crushes. And Hilary Duff has been on the list for years. She’s curvy and beautiful, and when the paparazzi snapped some post-baby pics of her body, my girl-crush affection increased drastically. Given that revelation, you can imagine my shock to discover the public attacked her weight, at which point Hilary Duff rightfully responded with, “Say it to me face,” and, “The weight doesn’t fall off overnight.” It’s absolutely astounding how horrible people can be, and considering that most of the country is obese, my guess is that her online critics are probably not in a position to criticize. And furthermore, Hilary Duff is one hot mamma.

Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes are Divorcing — Hollywood Weeps
Despite the endless speculation about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes being under some kind of contractual arrangement, I actually believed in them. I thought, “Maybe they are really in love, and Tom Cruise is just a victim of the Hollywood-rumor-mill. But just when I got comfortable with the couple, they’re done. That’s not to say it was ever fake, but let this be a lesson to everyone doing interviews about their relationship — be careful what you say and how you say it, because no one wants youtube-couch-jumping evidence of the way it used to be. As an aside, this will likely help both of their careers. Holmes lived in his shadow, and Cruise never quite recovered from his Oprah interview. As a unit, they professionally suffered, and this brings them back to reality in a more relatable fashion.
Ann Curry Says Goodbye to ‘The Today Show’ — Stays Classy
I really like Ann Curry. I think she’s classy and sweet, but she just didn’t have a co-host personality. She’s a little too serious, and she’s better suited to cover hard news. But that’s not a bad thing. ‘The Today Show’ co-hosts are cheesy and relatively douchey, which Ann Curry isn’t. If it’s true that Matt Lauer pushed her out, she certainly held it together during her farewell speech. If it were me, I might have socked him. This really is a positive move for Curry. Her “success” is in no way related to being a co-host on ‘The Today Show.’ And as an aside, she is very pretty. I’d like to buy that red dress she’s wearing. Watch below.

Chris Evans Talks to Women’s Health Magazine — What’s His Type of Woman?
Women’s Health Magazine asked Avengers star Chris Evans a series of entertaining questions, though they failed to ask the most important one. Does he have that Captain America costume, and would he wear it in bed with The Dishmaster? Oops, that was two. Read some of his answers below, and click here for the rest of the interview.
1. Finish this sentence: Women don’t understand how much men want to. . .
Watch football on Sundays. And I know a lot of women who don’t understand that the whole day is going to be dedicated to football. That’s all we ask!
2. What might be a surprise to learn about you?
I’m a pretty decent tap dancer. I enjoy all types of dancing, actually. I get a couple of drinks in me and I stand up—it just happens.
3. What qualities make a woman marriage material?
I really like women who get emotional about babies and puppies. I’ve met some incredibly cool women who are tough, but the woman you marry should have a really soft side.
4. The ultimate turnoff is. . .
Arrogance and fake modesty. Nothing is worse than a beautiful girl fishing for compliments by saying how gross she is. On the flip side, I find genuine humility and modesty attractive.
5. Should girls play hard to get?
Oh God, I hate that! Nope, nope, nope. I just don’t like games in general.
Kate Walsh Goes to Belize for Oceana — See Pictures!
I don’t post paparazzi pictures on The Dishmaster, so I was excited to get these approved, candid photos of ‘Private Practice’s’ Kate Walsh in my inbox. She’s the face of Oceana’s Save Sea Turtles campaign, and she hopes her involvement with the conservation group will “raise awareness,” because, people “don’t know that [sea turtles] are an endangered species.” See the beautiful pictures below.

Lisa Ling v. Oprah — Kardashian Kriticism
Though I appreciate her candor, if I were Lisa Ling I’d likely keep my mouth shut about the woman keeping me employed. While promoting her OWN television show, ‘Our America,’ she made it clear that she disapproved of Oprah’s Kardashian interview, saying although she understood why she did it, she doesn’t understand why the Kardashians are the most revered family in the country. Allow me to take a moment to point something out to Lisa Ling. The Kardashians are not the most revered or respected family in the country. They are on a mindless television show, which provides a relaxing release at the end of the work day. And just because I watch that television show, doesn’t mean that I can’t also watch the news. I am fully capable of doing more than one thing in the day. Should I also stop eating popcorn because it’s not oatmeal?
