Alex Preston and Jo Dee Messina are Cousins!????
American Idol front runner Alex Preston sang an original song on tonight’s American Idol, and he killed it. But before you ask yourself how he has yet to be discovered, there’s a little information that somehow slipped by the main press. He’s cousins with Jo Dee Messina! Who knew?! Plus, he’s written songs with her. To see a sample of his talent, watch below.
The Good Wife Promo — Will the Florricks’ Marriage Survive?
It looks like the Florricks are about to reach their breaking point, as Alicia mourns the death of her former flame, Will Gardner. Though Josh Charles’ exit was certainly sad, it will be nice to see more of Chris Noth, who is a legend for ladies everywhere who loved him on Sex and the City. Watch a clip below.
The Voice Battle Rounds Continue — ‘Say Something’
It’s no secret that The Voice has some of the best talent out there, so it’s shocking that they have yet to produce a star. It’s possible that the fresh format works against industry longevity, but my more educated guess is that NBC doesn’t have their post-show promotional materials in place, and the stars lose their luster rather quickly. Watch Ddendyl and Deja Hall sing ‘Say Something’ by A Great Big World. Shakira made the wrong choice.
Mindy Kaling’s Crop Top is not “Courageous”
“It takes a lot of effort to look like a normal/chubby woman.”
Mindy Kaling visited Jimmy Kimmel and gave one of the most honest interviews I’ve ever seen on television. Kaling addressed the many bloggers who deliver backhanded compliments about her weight, calling her “courageous” for wearing a crop top and insisting that she “doesn’t subscribe to the ideals of beauty that other people do.” Kimmel kindly empathized, noting that others are constantly commenting on his weight. Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin Separate — Why is she Unlikable?
Gwyneth Paltrow has long struggled with her likability, and her divorce announcement fanned the flames. While she might attribute the prickly reaction to a heartless public, this code is easy to crack. Paltrow didn’t just announce her split, she published an accompanying article on her GOOP website explaining the term, “conscious uncoupling,” in depth. In fact, there’s so much depth I nearly fell asleep on paragraph four. Read a select gem below.
The truth is, the only thing any of us have is today. Beyond that, there are no guarantees. The idea of being married to one person for life is too much pressure for anyone. In fact, it would be interesting to see how much easier couples might commit to each other by thinking of their relationship in terms of daily renewal instead of a lifetime investment. This is probably the reason why so many people say their long-term relationships changed overnight, once they got married. The people didn’t change, but the expectation did.
The REAL truth is, relationships are private. There’s no formula for its success, and there’s certainly no formula for its failure. It’s easy to malign the institution merely because your personal marriage ended, but it’s also arrogant. To assume you have any inside awareness of an objective relationship truth, is obnoxious. I’m surprised Gwyneth’s team didn’t get their hands on this in time to block it. It’s ridiculous.
Jennifer Love Hewitt Visits Ellen — Buttoned Up Babe
It’s interesting to see Jennifer Love Hewitt’s post-baby look. It’s quite the change from her Herve Leger days, but the buttons seem to suggest a more adult debut. And though she’s certainly likable, I still can’t help but remind myself that she tanked The Client List over creative differences, sinking many coveted jobs in the process. Watch below.
