Crash Kings at the Troubador — Killed it!!

When you’re friends with the band performing, it can be either a complete disaster or a complete success. In the case of Crash Kings at the Troubador, it was not only a success — it was magical. The sold-out venue was filled with die-hard fans, who bobbed their heads and sang along to every word. In fact, I spotted an A-list celebrity beside me (whose name I won’t mention due to my Dishmaster integrity), and I overheard him say, “This band is fu*king incredible!” And he’s right. They blew me away. Tony Beliveau (lead vocals, keys) has the kind of on-stage energy that gets talked about years later in those hip music circles when one person says to another, “Dude! Have you seen Crash Kings live? They are insane!” He was joined by his brother, Mike Beliveau (bass), who doesn’t just dominate the stage, he’s also easy on the eyes. Their third member, Jason Morris (drums), also has an incredible stage presence (I have to admit my bias toward drummers — they’re just so damn cool — and Jason is no exception). They played music from their new record, which judging from what I heard live last night — will be a chart-topping success. It’s difficult to articulate what makes music good. But I know it when I hear it. And I heard it last night.

Kristen Bell’s Interview With Women’s Health Magazine — Gushes About Dax Shepard

I have to compliment Kristen Bell for her interview prowess. She’s a funny chick, and she’s not afraid to turn a serious interview upside down. Read below for quotes from her interview with Women’s Health Magazine.

Kristen on butts

“My favorite things on the planet. I want two round cupcakes, always. I kicked my buns and abs sets into high gear when I knew I’d have to be in my bra and underwear on House of Lies. But I don’t show my crack! All the Mr. Skins of the world are like, “ooh, Kristen gets naked!’ I’m like, ‘Dream on!’”

Kristen on her House of Lies co-star Don Cheadle’s butt

“If you had those beautiful chocolate bun-cakes, you’d show’em too, let’s be honest.”

Kristen on working with fiancé, Dax Shepard on their upcoming movie Outrun

“I would watch him walk back to the monitor and yell things such as ‘Action!’ or ‘Cut!’ and I’d just go, ‘And you expect me to work when you’re doing cute things around me all day? How am I supposed to focus?

Kristen on fiancé Dax Shepard’s cooking

He makes this delicious spaghetti dish… about twice a year. I wish he cooked more.[Actually] I don’t wish he cooked more. He’s a very good cook, but I’m quite territorial in the kitchen. It’s like, if I went outside and fixed the car, he’d be like, ‘Whaaat?’”

Kristen on vegan food

“[It’s] fart powder. [It] makes you gassy.”

Kristen on her and fiancé Dax Shepard’s best friends

“We decided to create the first four-way marriage, where our couple has married their couple.”

Kristen on her relationship with fiancé Dax

“We nauseate ourselves with how mushy we are.”

Elisabeth Moss Insults Ex-Husband Fred Armisen & Eight Month Marriage — Ouch!

The next time I want to insult an ex-boyfriend, I’m calling Elisabeth Moss for a fresh zinger. When the Mad Men star was asked about her eight month marriage to Saturday Night Live’s Fred Armisen, she quoted her friend, saying, “‘He’s so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.’ To me, that sums it up.”  That’s just such a brilliant and cutting quote. When they split up after eight months, I thought, “What could you learn in such a short period of time that you didn’t already know?” But her comment certainly answers that question.

Bethenny Frankel Interview With Moira Forbes — War With the Press

I like Bethenny Frankel. I like her because she’s funny, and because she’s real. Plus, she’s moderately nuts, and I can definitely relate to the crazy. I also think Moira Forbes did a very good job in the interview below. My favorite line came at the end of the interview when Bethenny said, “I’m happy with a side of unhappy.”

Quote of the Day — Sandra Bullock & Brett Ratner on Their Non-Hookup

“We think that it’s incredibly sad that in these times, this magazine would resort to complete fabrication, solely for financial gain. There is not a shred of accuracy in their story. We have not seen nor spoken to each for over a decade. We both had a great time after the Oscars, just not with each other.” Sandra Bullock & Brett Ratner, on the “fabricated story” that they hooked up. Can these two people get a sense of humor? The only thing “sad” about the false report is the idea that Sandra Bullock would waste her time on Brett Ratner. Other than that, it’s pretty funny.

Florence + The Machine Release “Never Let Me Go” Music Video — Incredible!

Florence Welch doesn’t really need to do much to highlight her music. It stands entirely on it’s own. That being said, I love the new video. It captures the epic quality of the song. If you like it, buy her Ceremonials album. It’s worth it. Watch below.

Vintage Interview: Kim Kardashian & Khloe Kardashian on Howard Stern

It’s no secret that I’m in love with Howard Stern. And if you don’t share my love, I’d encourage you to watch the interview below. Stern has a reputation for his gross antics, but most people who insult him don’t listen to his show. Watch below to see him interview Kim & Khloe Kardashian. Enjoy!

Stephen Baldwin and George Takei Respond to Kirk Cameron’s Bigotry

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. If Kirk Cameron went on national television and said, “Black people should not be allowed to marry white people because it’s ‘unnatural,'” no one would say, “He has a right to speak his mind.” We’d call him a racist prick and damn him for eternity (see Mel Gibson). But that same respect isn’t given to homosexuals. It’s time we call Kirk Cameron a bigot and move on. And as for Stephen Baldwin — he’s a bigot too. The guy married a religious nut and because he’s pu*sy-whipped — he joined team crazy. The only reason a man thinks homosexuality is a “choice” is because he’s gay and “chose” to be straight, and he thinks everyone should join his personal hell. Watch the nonsense below.

Quote of the Day — Did Bachelor Ben Flajnik Hate being “The Bachelor?”

“One more of these [expletive] things and I’m done. I have so many better things to do with my life.” Ben Flajnik, also known as “the worst Bachelor in the history of the show,” on his disdain for having to appear on The Bachelor’s The Women Tell All special. According to the Los Angeles Times, Flajnik made the remark backstage. Did I mention what a douchebag this guy is? He’s quite possibly the meanest, most boring person ABC has ever cast.
