Jon Stewart Defends Michele Bachman — Bashes Newsweek

Jon Stewart took aim at Newsweek’s Michele Bachman cover, claiming it was a “petty attempt to make her look crazy,” which is unnecessary, given that Bachman’s words alone substantiate her craziness. So is the liberal media really as biased as conservatives suggest? Probably. But when someone is objectively insane, doesn’t that give Newsweek free reign to draw nutty thought bubbles on her head with arrows that say “this bitc* is crazy!” I realize they are supposed to be an unbiased news source, but I’m not sure I much care whether Newsweek feels the need to use a photo that illustrates her point of view. It’s cheap — but the American people are so lazy these days — they need visual aids. And Newsweek provided one.

Dr. Drew Calls-Out Anna Nicole’s Doctor

Dr. Drew has an insane way of keeping his calm amongst crazies. Perhaps if he could bottle that skill and sell it, I’d be a much healthier person. If it were me sitting across the table from the man that prescribed medication to Anna Nicole Smith, listening to him wax-on about how she wasn’t technically a drug addict, and how he only partied with her once, I might reach across the table and strangle the guy. Not Dr. Drew though. Drew spouted a bunch of medical terminology that put Dr. Sandeep Kapoor in his place. Watch below.

George Lopez Canceled — Is it Conan’s Fault?

I feel bad for George Lopez. The guy had a moderately successful show, and then Conan’s late night debacle forced him into a new time-slot. At the time, he was supportive, assuming that a great lead-in could only help his ratings. Unfortunately, Conan didn’t deliver his expected audience numbers, and George Lopez suffered. But when you look at the big picture, here’s the nutshell summary — Conan did to George what Jay did to Conan. Sure Conan likely asked for George’s permission when he joined TBS, but in the end, he still hurt Lopez’s numbers. It’s not my style to pick on Conan O’Brien. I used to be such a huge fan of his show. But he should have stayed in his original time-slot. He was chasing after the dream of “being the next Johnny Carson,” and that arbitrary goal got in the way of pragmatic decision-making. Now he’s suffering. And furthermore — he should have gone to Fox instead of TBS.

Howard Stern’s Advance ‘Super 8’ Screener Leaks Online — HILARIOUS

If you’re a Howard Stern fan, then you’re aware of his vehement disdain for movie studios that refuse to send him screeners. According to Stern, he’s the only guy in showbiz that doesn’t get advance copies, because he’s considered a media reject that the studios don’t trust. In a very ironic turn of events, it appears that Stern received a screener of Super 8, and his copy leaked online. Apparently, Stern’s name was water marked in the bottom right hand corner of the film. So can the King of All Media not be trusted, after all? This certainly doesn’t bode well for his future screeners, but it sure is funny.

Anderson Cooper Discusses Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt — But Why?

Last I checked, Anderson Cooper was a real journalist. If you’re looking for a definition of “journalist,” I’m sure you’ll find it does not include discussions of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. These two people are no longer relevant in the media, given that they don’t currently have a show on the air. Furthermore, CNN is not ‘The View,” which means all celebrity content should be judiciously chosen. If you’re going to complain about people who are “famous for nothing,” perhaps you should change your gripe to people who “famous for being discussed by Anderson Cooper.”

Teen Mom’s Maci Bookout — Super Annoying?

If you watch Teen Mom, then you are familiar with Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards. They ended their relationship, and they are forced to co-parent. On the latest episode, Ryan was edited to look bad, and the very biased SuChin Pak, perpetuated his unfair portrayal during the after show. To summarize their on-screen fight, Ryan wanted to see his son on his birthday, and Maci wouldn’t allow it because it “wasn’t his day.” She offered to let him accompany her to the aquarium with her boyfriend, but he obviously felt uncomfortable as the third wheel and decided not to go. When Maci wanted to see her child on Halloween, Ryan stood firm by giving her the same treatment, saying “it wasn’t her day,” and if she wanted to join him and his parents on Halloween, she was welcome. Maci threw a fit, insisting that he should allow it. She then confronted him on the issue while holding her son, and Ryan yelled at her. Being the victim that she is, Maci cried on the after show about how horrible Ryan is, saying that he didn’t care that their son witnessed such a terrible argument on their birthday. If she’s so bothered by his behavior, perhaps she should refrain from starting a heated conversation while holding her son. Don’t start a fight while your kid is present and then blame the guy for fighting in front of your kid.

Sex And The City Prequel In The Works — Carrie Bradshaw is Crying

Remember when TBS bought HBO’s ‘Sex and the City’ and watered down the content to make the show family friendly? At the time, the actresses were pissed. So with the news that the next film will be a prequel with younger actresses, I can only imagine that everyone involved in the original series is fuming. First, the show is about single woman in their thirties, and the movie stood for the idea that women are not only funny on the big screen, but you don’t need pre-pubescent eye candy to get people in the theater. Additionally, there was something great about not knowing too much about the characters’ back stories. And just when you thought it could not get worse, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez are rumored to be attached to the project.

Jennifer Lopez Talks Divorce to Vanity Fair — Planned in Advance?

If you wonder why Jennifer Lopez hasn’t looked sad lately, it’s probably because her marriage was over long before her official announcement. How do I know this? Because she’s on the cover of Vanity Fair discussing why she dumped MarK Anthony, and these interviews take place at least a month before they hit the stands. When asked about the divorce, she said, “Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself — if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now.” Am I the only person that thinks publicly discussing the reason for leaving someone is inappropriate? On top of that, rumors are circulating that Mark cheated on her, and that he was extremely controlling. Though this might just be tabloid rumors, JLO’s camp hasn’t denied it, which leads me to believe they are responsible for the leaks. Sometimes your private life is best left private. You don’t see DiCaprio doing this.
