Isabel Toledo appeared on The View to promote her new collection, and she hit it out of the park. She shot to super-stardom when she dressed Michelle Obama for President Obama’s inauguration and she certainly has the design-chops for a long-sustaining career. She doesn’t really need my promotion, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Watch below.

Ashley Judd’s ‘Missing’ — Thrilling ABC Pilot
I read some of the reviews for ABC’s new Ashley Judd thriller, ‘Missing’, and all the Hollywood-big-hitters seem to hate it. Perhaps I’m missing something (pun intended), but I loved it. Ashley Judd is a force on screen, and she proves movie stars will always make for the best television stars. In fact, I thought the supporting players paled in comparison. I’ll refrain from a tedious plot summary, except to say that Judd plays an ex CIA agent who’s trying to locate her son after he’s been kidnapped. It’s unclear from the pilot why he’s been kidnapped, or what Judd’s work at the CIA actually involved, but I’m sure those details will unfold in the subsequent episodes. The one-note plot might be unsustainable for multiple seasons, but the pilot certainly caught my attention. Screw the Hollywood-big-hitters! The Dishmaster approves!
James Denton on ‘The View’ — Discusses ‘Desperate Housewives’ Lawsuit
James Denton appeared on The View to discuss his character’s demise on Desperate Housewives, and he surprisingly mentioned Nicollette Sheridan’s lawsuit against series creator Marc Cherry. In fact, he even made fun of it, saying, “He slapped me!” as a joke in reference to Marc Cherry. He also discussed a story he wasn’t allowed to tell during trial because of the opposing counsel’s objection. Without getting into the very complicated rules of evidence that took me years to fully understand in law school, let me just say that it’s not surprising that the judge ruled in favor of excluding his story. Furthermore, because Denton wasn’t present in Nicollette’s trailer when she alleges Marc Cherry slapped her, I find it in poor taste for him to take a side. And despite his proclamation otherwise — trust me — he’s taken a side.
Dancing With the Stars Season 14 Cast Revealed — Maksim Returns!
ABC revealed the new cast for Dancing With the Stars, and it’s already clear this will be a great season. First, despite all of the controversy he caused last year, Maksim Chmerkovskiy will return to the show. That’s good news considering he’s pretty much the only reason I watch. Second, there are some good stars this year, including Jaleel White (better known as “Steve Urkel”). Since I’ve been complaining that Dancing With the Stars has become a career launcher rather than a career salvager, that is also good news. And who doesn’t want to see the legendary Gladys Knight every week? To see the rest of the cast, click here.
Star Jones Returns to ‘The View’ — Still Evasive
If you own your truth, no one can touch you. And Star Jones still hasn’t owned her truth. She returned to The View to squash the bad blood, yet she objected to Barbara Walters’ rehashing of her departure. I’m not sure how Star Jones thought she’d get away with dodging Queen Walters, but she certainly tried. “Are you seriously going to go there?” She asked. “Does anyone care?” Walters wouldn’t relent. “You may not care,” she said. “But you’re used to hot topics.” Jones gave a bunch of canned answers that fooled me into thinking she was running for office. Walters then asked Jones about her decision to hide her gastric bypass surgery. Jones still dodged the answer.
Tim McGraw & Faith Hill on ‘The View’ — Interrupted Constantly
When I’m asked for the “type” of man I find attractive, I consistently say Tim McGraw. So I was extremely pleased to discover that he appeared on The View with Faith Hill, presumably to promote their new fragrances. I used the word “presumably” in the last sentence because it’s hard to tell why Tim McGraw was there, considering he could barely utter two words without those five yentes chirping constant interruptions. Watch below and feel free to put the clip on mute so that you can fully absorb Tim McGraw’s hotness without listening to the co-hosts’ inappropriate attempt to steal the spotlight.
Kyle Richards on The View — “Don’t Cheat and Tell”
I’ve never cheated on a significant other in my entire life. That’s more about my anxiety than it is about being moral, but either way — it’s wrong. So when I hear of friends who have engaged in such indiscretions and don’t tell their partner, I often wonder if they are sociopaths. Kyle Richards might be one such sociopath, after an appearance on The View where she discussed advising a close friend (who may or may not be Kyle Richards in disguise) not to “cheat and tell.” How does the guilt not eat you alive? Remember when love involved picking flower petals and saying, “he loves me, he loves me not.”
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Addresses Abortion — Great Episode
I have to give Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rimes a lot of credit. There are very few shows that can climb out of a writing slump so successfully. The show has been completely resurrected, and it’s better than ever. In the scene below, watch the very gifted Sandra Oh and Kevin McKidd discuss abortion.
Katherine Heigl Wants to Return to Grey’s Anatomy — Shonda Rimes Laughing?
When actors become breakout stars of a television series, they inevitably want out of their contract to star in movies. Studios get angry, actors become defiant, and finally, after a predicted media meltdown, the network and studio decide they would rather have to rewrite a story-line than deal with a difficult, unhappy actor. But the actor soon discovers that the movie business brings more fame than money, because offers, no matter how big, are few and far between. Such was the case with Katherine Heigl, who kicked and screamed her way off of Grey’s Anatomy until she was finally released from her contract. And like the many actors before her (see David Caruso) — she wants back in. Shonda Rimes is probably tickled pink.
Sherri Shepherd Discusses Paula Deen’s Diabetes — Hypocrite?
Sherri Shepherd sufficiently confused me on today’s The View, where she discussed the controversy surrounding Paula Deen’s diabetes. Shepherd has openly discussed her own struggle with diabetes, despite also openly maintaining an extremely overweight stature. Though I try not to pick on people’s physical appearance at The Dishmaster, Shepherd’s statements in the video below beg the obvious question — why has no one “shaken” her about her weight issues? Perhaps she needs her own wake up call.
