To quote my very funny friend, Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend is probably thinking, “Thank God we are never getting back together.” Sure that sounds mean, but it’s really a knock on her horrific new song than it is an attack on her character. Watch the video below. Unless you’re twelve, I’d say you probably won’t like it.

Kathie Lee Confirms Taylor Swift Crashed the Kennedy Wedding

It appears that Taylor Swift’s squeaky clean star is starting to dim. In what can only be classified as a badass move, Kathie Lee Gifford officially confirmed that Taylor Swift crashed a Kennedy wedding when she refused to leave despite being asked twice. Apparently her boyfriend forgot to RSVP and the mother-of-the-bride felt Swift’s attendance would detract from her daughter’s big day. It takes some nerve to stick around when you’re not wanted, and it takes even bigger nerve to publicly deny the occurrence when multiple witnesses say otherwise.

Taylor Swift’s ‘We Are Never Getting Back Together’ — Record Breaking Schmaltz

I know Taylor Swift is infallible, and I realize what I’m about to say will be met with the same eye-rolls as my Tom Arnold/Roseanne post, but her new song is cringe-worthy. The lyrics are so literal, I found myself uncomfortable while listening, and the spaces involving her prosaic dialogue reminded me that early fame might have stunted her adult development. It’s time to move her music to a more mature place. But I need not apologize to Taylor Swift for this post — the song is already on it’s way to breaking records.

John Mayer on Taylor Swift: “She Humiliated Me”

It’s not every day that I agree with John Mayer, so mark your calenders because this will likely never happen again. When asked about Taylor Swift’s “Dear John” revenge song about Mayer, he said, “It made me feel terrible. “Because I didn’t deserve it.” He added that, “It was a really lousy thing to do,” and it’s “cheap songwriting,” explaining that “It’s abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, ‘Wait til he gets a load of this!’ That’s bullshit.” Though I understand that songwriting is often akin to revealing one’s diary, Swift’s approach strikes me as an inauthentic attempt to insult an ex, rather than relate to the public.

Taylor Swift Sings “Mean” at the Grammys — Excellent

I’ve always loved Taylor Swift, but her performance of “Mean” at the 2012 Grammys was especially good. Though her vocal prowess is limited, she makes up for it with stage presence. And in the performance below, she’s clearly using that stage to sing directly to those who wronged her. It must have been of notable enjoyment when she said, “someday I’ll be singing this at the Grammys and all you’re ever gonna be is mean.”
