Spoilers on Grey’s Anatomy, Gossip Girl, and Private Practice

On Grey’s Anatomy, Mark is evidently going to try and get Lexie back. Does this mean that we’ll never see that awful blonde hair on the show again? Shonda Rimes tells TV Guide that “there is a very surprising, very lovely moment coming where Mark takes a stand and makes a play for Lexie.”

Gossip Girl fans can either rejoice or get angry. Billy Baldwin will return to the show to stir up trouble. Because the show films in New York and he lives in Los Angeles, his appearances will be scattered.

Does Maya die on Private Practice?  Apparently not.  Someone will though.  Keep the guesses coming and watch the promo below for a hint.

Julianne Hough is Returning to ‘Dancing With the Stars’

I think Julianne Hough finally got the memo.  When you want to break into country music, performing (even as a dancer) on the biggest show on television might help you out a little.  Julianne quit the show because she wanted to be taken more seriously as a country music singer, and now she’s coming back.  The last time we saw her on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ she was dancing with her then boyfriend Chuck Wicks.  They have since broken up.  I’m guessing that DWTS will pair her up with the fattest, oldest celebrity just to punish her a little.

Betty White Scores Huge Ratings for Saturday Night Live

Betty White continues to show up the youngters.  Her Saturday Night Live hosting gig scored the biggest numbers since the 2008 pre-election days. Her career certainly has spanned generations.  She went from a vixen on Mary Tyler Moore, to the doe-eyed sweetheart on the Golden Girls, and finally, to becoming a facebook sensation!  You go girl! Watch her open the show below.

Ellen Pompeo May Leave ‘Greys Anatomy’

Ellen Pompeo said in a recent interview that she will likely leave ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ when her contract expires in 2012.  I understand that eight seasons is a long run, but if it were me I would ride that gravy train for all it’s worth.  Pompeo should go for coffee with a soap opera star.  Soap actors stay on those shows for 30 years sometimes.  The work may not be artistically fantastic, but the pay sure is great.  To each his own, I suppose.

Alec Baldwin Will Host the Season Finale of ‘Saturday Night Live’

Alec Baldwin, will host the season finale ‘Saturday Night Live’ in two weeks. He unofficially revealed the news at the White House Correspondent’s dinner. NBC has yet to confirm or deny but I imagine they probably were not pleased that Baldwin jumped the gun with the announcement.  I also read that he gave Betty White advice, telling her to be sure not to “peak at the dress rehearsal.”  Baldwin has hosted the show 14 times, and is considered a fan favorite.

Patrick Dempsey May Leave ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Deadline reports that Patrick Dempsey’s contract is up at the end of next season, and he is seriously considering leaving the show.  Like Katherine Heigl, his film career has taken off since the show began, and he reportedly wants to focus on some leading man roles that he has in the pipeline.  As an aside, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ sounds like a pretty miserable place to work.  Though the actors insist that they are like “family,” something tells me that’s a lie.  First you had the Isaiah Washington scandal, then T.R. Knight begged to get out of his contract, and finally, there was that endless drama with Katherine Heigl.  Now – Patrick Dempsey wants to leave!?  What are they not telling us?

‘Glee’ is the Most Watched Scripted Show on Television

I’ve been accused of being very ‘Glee-centric’ on my blog – but to hell with it!  The show is incredible, and the public obviously shares my fervor, given that it just surpassed ‘Modern Family’ as the most watched scripted show on television.  Tuesday’s episode was the best yet, with Kristin Chenoweth and Matthew Morrison singing a mash-up of ‘One Less Bell to Answer’ and ‘A House is Not a Home.’  Both songs were written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.  Morrison and Chenoweth are Broadway stars, so it doesn’t surprise me that they could deliver this performance.  Listen below.

Tony Dovolani Takes a Dig at Carrie Ann Inaba on ‘Dancing With the Stars’?

On tonight’s ‘DWTS,’ Tony Dovolani wrote “Tony loves Carrie Ann” on a chalkboard as part of his dance with Kate Gosselin.  I found this particularly interesting, because Dovolani and Inaba have had so much friction in the past.  In an interview with People, he questioned her dancing expertise, saying “she does not understand what ballroom dancing is.  She’s never done it herself.”  It’s possible they’ve made up since his interview, and this was just a fun little poke at her.  It’s also possible that he still dislikes her and enjoyed the dig.  Watch below and judge for yourself.

Dancing with the Stars Beats American Idol Again

Sure they only won by about a million viewers, but that’s enough to signify what I think is the beginning of the end for the Idol powerhouse.  DWTS had 21.21 million viewers, while Idol had 20.84.  This doesn’t surprise me, given that this is the worst season of ‘American Idol’ in the history of the show.  The ship is sinking.  Maybe the judges were just too lazy this time around to pick a decent crop of kids for us to vote on.  Either that or Kara DioGuardi and this horrific four judge panel needs to be done with.

Kate Gosselin is a Reality Television Rock Star

You have to hand it to the women.  She has eight mouths to feed and probably no income coming in from her ex-husband, so why not land two reality shows?  TLC has signed Kate for ‘Twist of Kate’ and ‘Kate Plus 8.’  On ‘Twist of Kate,’ she will be offering advice to women inspired by her, and ‘Kate Plus 8’ will follow the format of ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8’ but without the dead weight that was Jon Gosselin.  I predict Jon Gosselin will lodge a court battle to keep his kids off her show, in hopes of getting a big payout to drop a lawsuit.  We’ll see what happens.
