If you had any doubts about whether Matt Lauer is a real journalist, then watch the interview below where he addresses the plaguing question on America’s mind: Did Zac Efron drop a condom on the red carpet of The Lorax premiere? Efron copped to the flub, saying, “I never had a pocket-checking policy prior to the red carpet, but now we’ve fully instated one.” And just when you thought it couldn’t get better, Lauer pointed out that Efron sent a great message to youngsters about safe sex. Lindsay Lohan on ‘The Today Show’: Tells Matt Lauer She’s Sober — Telling the Truth?
I know Lindsay Lohan is desperate to revive her career. But she only gets so many shots at telling the public she’s “back on track,” and she therefore needs to be careful about irreparably destroying her credibility. The public is willing to forgive (see Robert Downey Jr.) if they believe you’ve recovered. And though I’d love to believe she’s clean and sober, she’s too close to her recovery to make such absolute claims as, “I will not let anyone down.” I realize she has to convince insurance companies to insure her in television in films, but it’s just too soon. And finally, she has to die her hair red to be taken seriously. I know it sounds superficial to proclaim that hair color has anything to do with public perception, but every time she’s gone blond she’s gotten into trouble. Watch below.

Matthew Morrison Badmouths Glee? — Ungrateful?
When actors get a hit television series they always want out of their contract. The offers start to pour in, and their egos take over. But because studios have them under five to seven year contracts, they have one of three choices: Politely ask to be released from their contract; cause a media frenzy and get fired by the studio (see Katherine Heigl); or wait it out until the show runs its course. Matthew Morrison might be opting for option two. He recently told The Mirror that he feels “trapped” on the show, and despite “having a really good lawyer” he “cannot get out of it.” He also said the show has caused him to turn down movie roles. I have a few things to say about this. First, getting a hit television show is the holy-fu*king-grail in the entertainment business. If you knew how many shows die each season, you’d be shocked. He should therefore get down on his knees and thank God for his luck. Second, studios and networks are very kind to their actors, and they more often than not allow them to render services on movies, provided it doesn’t interfere with their shooting schedule. And lastly, I sure hope Matthew Morrison is saving his money (see Katherine Heigl again).
Jennifer Lopez Boxes for V Magazine — Got it Right!
If you go the sexy route for a magazine cover, you should be creative about it. And Jennifer Lopez knocked it out of the park (no pun intended). Her photos for V Magazine were sexy yet original. It takes an artist to put a spin on sex appeal, instead of just recycling old ideas. She even wore a groin protector! Too see the rest of the photos, click here.

Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump Launches Self-Hate Tirade — Retires From Music?
Let me start this post by saying I was never a fan of Fall Out Boy. The first I ever saw or heard of Patrick Stump was at a PBS event where different singers paid tribute to Buddy Holly, and Patrick Stump was one of them. He blew me away. He was in good company that night, and that company included: Stevie Nicks, Chris Isaak, Graham Nash, and Paul Anka. Stump not only went to bat with the heavy hitters — he beat them. So when I heard he was coming out with a solo album, I was very excited. Unfortunately, the album was terrible. To put it plainly, he went the wrong direction entirely. His incredible voice became an afterthought to what was presumably an attempt at writing catchy tunes. But I wasn’t the only person disappointed by Stump’s latest album. Stump was disappointed too. But his disappointment surrounded the criticism, not the product. He took the time to write the self-hating monologue below:
The truth is wherever and whoever I am, whoever I am whenever I release whatever release is my next, whoever said recording is recorded with: I will never be the kid from Take This To Your Grave again. And I’m deeply sorry that I can’t be, I truly am (no irony, no sarcasm). I hate waking up every morning knowing I’m disappointing so many people. I hate feeling like the awkward adult husk of a discarded once-cute child actor. I’m debating going back to school and learning a proper trade. It’s tempting to say I won’t ever play/tour/record again, but I think that’s probably just pent up poor-me emotional pessimism talking (I suppose can be excused of that though right? I am the guy from That Emo Band after all).
It’s a shame that Stump can’t learn from his error, brush off the dirt, and keep moving forward. The guy is an incredible singer, and I find that it’s the best singers who take criticism the most personally. Knowing one’s flaws can often lead to self-destruction. So Stump — if you’re reading this — you’re fu*king great. Keep singing. Watch the video below to see him perform Buddy Holly’s “Everyday.”
Snooki is Pregnant?! — Career Suicide?
If it’s true that Snooki is pregnant, I sure hope she saved her money. Her entire career is predicated on partying, and those days are officially over. Who wants to see Snooki breast feeding a baby in the Jersey Shore house? Actually, what am I saying?! That sounds like must-see-television! Congratulations, Snooki! Watch Snooki deny her pregnancy to Lara Spencer in the video below, which is now being deemed by the New York Post as a lie.
Artie Lange on Conan With Nick DiPaulo — Still Looks Terrible
I really want to believe that Artie Lange is sober. But I remember his days on Howard Stern when he consistently insisted he was sober, and he wasn’t. Unfortunately, we know how that sad story ended. So when I saw him on Conan O’Brien to promote his new radio show, I thought: “Please look good. Please convince me you’re okay.” Sadly, he looks awful. He told Conan that his heroine days are behind him, and he even joked about his addiction. I know that he’s a comedian, and I know that comedians make fun of their own lives. But his riff sounds all too familiar to the same bit he threw to Howard Stern. I have no idea whether he’s still using. I can only hope he has his act together. As for Howard Stern, Stern won’t allow him back on the show to tell his story because, according to Stern, he doesn’t “feel strong enough within [himself] or that [he’d] be doing the right thing by him, because [he doesn’t] want to do the wrong thing for Artie. [He] just want[s] Artie to stay alive.”
Dancing With the Stars Season 14 Cast Revealed — Maksim Returns!
ABC revealed the new cast for Dancing With the Stars, and it’s already clear this will be a great season. First, despite all of the controversy he caused last year, Maksim Chmerkovskiy will return to the show. That’s good news considering he’s pretty much the only reason I watch. Second, there are some good stars this year, including Jaleel White (better known as “Steve Urkel”). Since I’ve been complaining that Dancing With the Stars has become a career launcher rather than a career salvager, that is also good news. And who doesn’t want to see the legendary Gladys Knight every week? To see the rest of the cast, click here.

Gotye Debuts “Easy Way Out” Video — Excellence Again
Gotye might not be a one-hit-wonder, after all. Though “Somebody I Used to Know” is impossible to beat, his new video for “Easy Way Out” certainly gives it a healthy fight. It’s a pretty literal interpretation of wasting one’s life away with repetition. In fact, it slightly depressed me. Watch below.
